You need to check the fuel delivery and compression of the engine. A miss is not always electrical. To test the injector power you need a noid light to check the operation of the injectors electrical pulse at cranking speed. If you find the light pulses consistently the injector can also be clogged as well. You need a compression tester to test the compression. You need to test all the cylinders since compression is now a matter of averages. No cylinder should be less that 10% of the rest. These tools can usually be loaned to you from a major auto parts store. Good luck :-)

Did you replace the boot that connected to the coil the touches the spark plug. If you didn't then the boot could be bad and instead of the park always going to the spark plug it hits outside the boot on the head. Good Luck

My 2004 chevy trailblazer is missing badly. Had them read the code for me at auto zone and it said I had a miss fire on the number one cylinder. I changed the plugs and it is still missing badly

Try moving the coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder (swap locations) and see if the same code comes up. If code is different, then coil pack is bad. Other reasons for miss; bad injector, poor compression.
Also, I know you changed plugs already, but always use AC Delco 43-103 plugs on this vehicle.

Car intermittantly miss firing, I think i GOT some bad gas. I used fuel injection cleaner,, miss firing is slightly better.

You will likely need new spark plugs and ignition wires or coils, depending which system is in the car.

I have a Lincoln ls v8 2001 and my #7 spark plug is miss firing. i need to know the way they fire so i can change that one.

Driver side on 3.9 V8 --5-6-7-8
Second from back is COP #7
Should have a code PO307 with MIL light lit, on dash

Just bought a coil on Wed. Airtex 5C1179 $48.64 at auto parts store.
Also did #7 on mine in march this year

Miss fire on #3cyl. where is #3 located

Number 3 is the 3rd plug back on the passenger side. Coils are notorious for going bad, I would recommend replacing the spark plugs, while you are there. Use Auto Lite, or Motorcraft Platinum Spark plugs only.

I have an 2002 buick century that has a iginition miss. We have changed the spark plugs, iginition wires, coil pack. It first came back with a miss fire number 2 cyclinder. The coil pack was changed. Now...

double check plug wires to be sure they go to the right cylinders. After that i would check fuel injectors
You need a listening device and listen for metallic clicking sound. Bad injectors will be silent and they do cause the same miss

I assume this has 8 coils, the one you are checking,is it the right one, have you located the exact cylinder miss fire?I believe,if I am not wrong,it has two coils per cylinder,It is showing this on the code.It is the primary coil, coil A ,the secondary coil is not showing up,any way, it is showing that the boot on the coil is leaking, and not sparking the spark plug.Let me know if I can help.
