Pull the latch on the left side of the steering wheel column.  if it soed not pop, go pull up on the hood hard and pull the lever again. it should pop the second time. then reach up under the hood and disengage the safety hook

There is a latch (pull up) on the right side of the panel under the steering wheel. The latch is near the right knee when sitting in the vehicle. Once that is activated you go to the front of the vehicle and pull the bonnet up slightly - then there is a latch that needs to be lifted on the right (as you look at the car).

Hood latch inside the rodeo will not release hood. what is the best way to get the hood up?

is it at the handle which pulls the chord?
Can you get to the chord under the dash?
If it is there, then use vise grips to pull it to open it - it may also help having a second set of hands to pull the hood up when pulling the chord...
Otherwise you may be able to get under the vehicle - otherwise I'm not too clear on why it isn't operating..

No power from new battery and no interior lights

First, check the battery terminal connections and the battery cables, end-to-end. These should all be clean, tight, no damage. If this doesn't work let me know, we'll try something else.
