thanks for writing. i will keep looking. but also, the amount of gasoline in the tank does not seem to affect the odor. i suppose i should note that there is certainly no pooling or leaking of
actual fuel onto the garage floor while she sleeps at night. and no lingering smell after she leaves. perhaps the smell is more prevalent, even, with less fuel in the tank.
Also i get the impression that the smell of gasoline is certainly being manufactured by the mechanical and electrical systems which drive the car. i mean to say that the car does not stink after it has rested, but rather while it is operating.
    i need a book...

    nope. no check engine light.

i found the leak. and there is indeed leaking fuel. small amounts from a coupling in one of the fuel lines at or above the spark plugs. on a side line seems to be a more rigid line at one end of which is some sort of air nozzle, with a cap.
and there are two fuel lines there, both of which are spliced, or interrupted and connected again with, a strange plastic coupling, or harness. the lower of the two is dribbling gasoline from this connection while the car is in operation and also immediately after the car is turned off.

Gasoline smells can be very dangerous, Can you smell it more after filling your tank up? If so there is a leak in the filler tube that leads to you gas tank. It needs to be replaced immediately. If not on the injector rail there is a pressure regulator that can leak or there can actually be leak on one of the injectors itself. Please remember if you can smell gasoline there is DEFINITELY a leak in the system. Check all fuel lines on the bottom check gas filter injector rail and gas tank carefully you should find the leak. Good luck

That seems to be where the pressure regulator is located. I happy you found it. Happy to help in anyway.

I have been smelling gasoline a lot inside. What can it be?

A major fuel odor could be a fuel leak in the engine compartment, or the gas tank, or the line under the van.
If the smell is coming in thru the vents on the dash, its on the engine or in the engine compartment.

Usually if you can smell fuel inside the cabin the vapors are coming in thru the vent system from the engine compartment.
Could be a fuel leak or a problem with the vapor canister.

check you exhaust. you may have a damaged cat or a broken baffle in the exhaust eather of these will stall the engine and you will have a strong smell of fuel.

look inside your engine compartment towards the back for gas. I've seen fuel lines that have small o-rings go out and cause that smell inside.
