Have the replacement bulb. Note there are two phillips screws on the inner wall when the back hatch is open. Are these two screws to be removed and then what is the process to remove the lens assembly and replace the bulb. Thanks
Yes, remove the two screws, and firmly yet carefully pull the taillamp assembly back out of the quarter panel. Once you have the taillamp out of the body and in hand, the sockets (on the back of taillamp) must be rotated to remove them from the lens. If memory serves, they must be rotated counter clockwise to release the socket from the lens housing, however, they will ONLY turn one way. plug your bulb into the socket and reverse the process. will only take about 5 minutes.

Open the back hatch look mid wad along the seal and see 2 small phillips screwa remove the 2 screws and light will slid to the back tilt and twist light scockets counter clockwise 1/4 turn and pull out. Pull bulb stright out and replace with new 3157LL pushing stright in. reinstall plugs with new bulb and twist 1/4 turn clokwise. slid lens back in to place and line 2 small mounts look like points in to holes, aline holes for phillips screws and put the screws back in.
You need to open the rear glass from the rear hatch. Look inside where the glass latches to the rear hatch. There is a Phillips head screw that connects the rear inner plastic panel to the rear hatch, remove this screw. Now, in the strap that you use to pull the rear hatch down, there is a torques head screw, that holds this strap to the rear hatch, you need to remove this screw. Start at one of the outer corners of the inner plastic panel and pull the panel away from the hatch. You will see the upper wiper motor in the right hand corner of the hatch. ther is one connector that is easy to see, you have to pull up on a plastic clip to remove this connector. Look for the rubber hose for the windshield washer fluid, it may be cracked or fallen off the plastic nozzle to the outside of the rear door. Please the hose back on or replace the hose if it's cracked or damaged by the wiper motor. To install just follow the procedure in revers. Good luck and hope i made some sense. Keep me posted, be glad to help out.
Rear: Brake, Back-up, Tail, Turn signal (3 bulbs, all # 3157)
To access the rear bulbs, open the liftgate and remove the two phillips head screws from the side of the housing. There is no 3rd screw. There is a metal rod with a ball tip which is stuck in a rubber socket on the vehicle.
Slowly and firmly rotate the assembly away from the vehicle until it disengages from the ball pin socket that secures it in back. Rotating it away from the vehicle give you leverage to smoothly disengage the ball from the socket.
Each of the three light sockets, all containing the same exact bulb type, can be removed by turning them counter-clockwise 1/4 turn.
Open the rear hatch and remove the two taillight mounting screws. These screws are located behind two plastic flaps that are flush fitting and part of the tail light housing. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver to put under the edge of the flap nearest the light. Pry gently (but persistently) and the flap will open to reveal the screw head underneath. (The hinge of the flap is on the side nearest the hatch opening.) Remove the screws with a phillips head screwdriver or an 8mm socket. Now comes the tricky part. Wiggle/pry the taillight housing as straight back as you can. Keep pulling/wiggling until the forward clip releases. Once it does you will be able to access the bulbs by rotating the bulb holders counterclockwise. Pull the bulb straight up out of its socket. Replace with the new bulb. Note how the forward spear point clip fits into its socket at the forward outboard edge of the housing. Fit the clip and push forward on the housing until you can hear the clip snap into place. Replace the screws and fold back the flaps. You're done.
For the brake light open the rear hatch and check beside the tail light. I believe ther is 2 phillips head screws right where the light meets the rear hatch on the body panel. remove them and gently yet firmly pull the lens assembly from the corner of the rear body panel. Squeeze the clips on the back of the socket and twist to remove the socket from the lens. Push gently on the bulb and turn carefully to remove light from the socket replace the light and reverse removal procedure to install.
