Question about 2005 Honda Accord

1 Answer

I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX-V6 with 128,000 road miles. The dealership is telling me that I need a new transmission. This will be my 4th transmission if I follow thru with this. Honda Corporation told the dealership that they will only agree to pay half of the transmission costs becauses it's over the extended warranty. I have no idea what a refurbished one along with labor would cost. Should I contact Honda myself or would it do any good?

I wasn't happy with the response the guy gave me yesterday. He couldn't spell and didn't give me any information. I think my $19.99 was wasted. I would like a refund. I'm not about to pay more money for getting no answers.

Honda accord ex 2001 check engine light suddenly came on, car started to idle roughly

If it's running rough, chances are that it's misfiring. If the Check Engine light is flashing/blinking, it is definitely misfiring.
If that's the case, drive it as little as possible... Or straight to the mechanic because the more you drive it while it's misfiring, the higher the chance is of you ruining your catalytic converter.

Can you tell me what should be done on a 90,000 mile servicing for a 2005 honda Accord. I am getting different quotes from different dealerships/facilities. Thank you!

You need to have the cam belt & water pump replaced at 110,000 miles not 90,000. You should have the transmission fluid changed, brakes & all hoses inspected. The coolant should be drained, thermostat replaced and fresh coolant installed. Of course the air & cabin filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles. The fuel filter is permanent and needs no replacing. Brake fluid should be changed unless you have already had this done. Serpentine belt replaced at 110,000 miles with the cam belt.

2000 honda accord with 111000 miles. About 3000 or 4000 miles ago I was starting to get excessive road noise coming from the back axle area. I thought tires, but with the new set on there, the noise is...

My thoughts exactly. Could also be an alignment issue (rear). It could be as simple as poorly balanced tires. Take it to a trusted mechanic. BTW: Just passed 125K on my EX.

Horsecrap...go to an independent transmission dealer after you call the extended warranty folks and complain!
I can count the number of Honda transmissions that go bad before 300,000 miles on one hand.

1998 Honda Accord transmission problem

This transmission have shift solenoids that are mounted on the outside in my personal experience I have rectified shift problem with these transmissions by simply change a solenoid or two. My recommendation is to put this vehicle on a code scanner and find out what is at fault first. If its a solenoid just replace, they are a dealer only part and that should take care of your problem. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA

1990 Honda Accord EX Transmission

possibly due to low trans fluid pressure. the cooler in the radiator may be plugged. to check, disconnect and bypass cooler with rubber line & clamps. drive 2-3 miles. shifting OK now? install auxillary cooler to bypass one in radiator. you can get one at auto-zone $30-$50. may just need fluid & filter change, but more likely it's the cooler. when they get plugged, either one, pressure drops alot.
