Yes, it is very hard to change the plugs. Your lexus also likely has coils on top of the plugs, which you especially don't want to break. I would recommend taking the car into a dealer for the repair.

What do I need for a tune up for my 2003 Lexus GS 300? I want to shop @ Wal-Mart for most of the content (I work there) and have the car running LOVELY lol. Please help me

To do a "Tune-up" you will need 6 spark plugs, a throttle body gasket, an air filter, an air compressor, a blow gun, a magnetic pick-up tool and a socket set with ratchet and extensions.
You must remove the intake air resonator, the #3 timing belt cover, the accelerator cable, the throttle control motor connector, the throttle position sensor connector, the accelerator pedal position sensor connector, the throttle body bracket and the throttle body. Then remove the spark plug cables and the ignition coils. You will then crack the spark plugs loose 1/4 turn and use the air compressor and blow gun to blow the debris out of the spark plug tubes so it does not enter the combustion chamber when the spark plugs are removed. Then remove the spark plugs. You will need the magnetic pick-up tool to fish the plugs out of the tubes once they are completely unscrewed.
Install new spark plugs and torque them to 13 ft.lbs (18 Nm)
Install throttle body with nw gasket. Install all other parts removed and connect all connectors.
Install intake resonator and new air filter.

How to change rear spark plugs on a 1997 ES 300 Lexus

you should be able to see wires coming from the body to the distributor you need to pull one of those wires out of the body or valve cover. JUST ONE you don't want to mix them up. then with a spark plug removal socket you should be able to run the socket down that whole until you feel it grab on the spark plug don't wrench really hard on it. if it has been a while since they've been changed then they may break with too much force. then after it is out put the anti seizing grease on the new one and install it repeat the process with the other spark plugs.franktilt_2.gif

How to change spark plug on lexuse gs300 2003

Hi, You need a new Spark Plugs Spark Plug Wrench Socket wrench Extension (At least 2-3 inch) size 10 socket size 12 socket...
First thing you need to do is find out where the spark plug cover is. Once you figure that out there will probably be size 10 or/and 12 bolts honding it down. Take that off and there you will see sensors connecting to each other and holding the spark plug in the cylinders. Unplug all the sensors and pull out the circular plugs holding the spark plugs down. THey might be a little tight and hard to get out so you're going to need to give it a good tug. Once you pull them out MAKE SURE YOU DONT DROP ANYTHING INTO THE CYLINDERS. You can look down into them and see the spark plugs. Get your spark plug wrench, extension, and socket wrench and stick them down in and push so that the spark plug wrench grabs them. Just simply unscrew the plugs, pull them all out, and then put the next ones in, and tighten them down. Just connect all the sensors, and put the cover back on and you're done. Pretty simple.
Take care

Lexus rx300 2002 hard shift between 1st and 2nd. Fluid and filter changed 3000mi ago, car has 93000mi

The 1999-2003 Lexus RX300 models have a common failure of the engine computer that causes the harsh shifting of the transmission. You need to get the computer (ECM - Engine Control Module) rebuilt or replaced before it causes permanent damage to the transmission. Even if the transmission is already ruined, the ECM will still need to be repaired. Most often, the transmission is fine though, and rebuilding the ECM will restore the smooth shifts that the Lexus should have. Circuit Board Medics can rebuild the ECM and reprogram it so that you only have to plug it back in when you get it back. See the link below:

I want to know how to replace spark plugs on a 2003 lexus gs300

on this particular engine, you are able to get to a couple of the plugs with no trouble. in order to get to the rest u have to remove the intake manifold; not as hard as it sounds only about 5-10 bolts. then just use a spark plug socket with an extension prefer locking extension.

hope this helps

Take that off and there you will see sensors connecting to each other and holding the spark plug in the cylinders. Unplug all the sensors and pull out the circular plugs holding the spark plugs down. Pull them out and make sure that you don't drop anything into the cylinderes. You can look down into them and see the spark plugs. Get your spark plug wrench, extension, and socket wrench and stick them down in and push so that the spark plug wrench grabs them.
