Question about 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet
I bought a 1988 Cabrio which had been stored for several years prior to the car being driven about 2,000 miles this summer. Oil had been changed, plugs replaced, car running good until...........I was driving it home after about a 25 mile trip. Nearing my home, I changed gears from 2nd to 3rd gear on my road, car engine died - quit. While my husband was pulling it on home, it appeared t he brake was on, car was kinda hard to pull. Parking lights work, other lights do not work. Replaced t he starter, got the rat-tat-tat sound, but engine would not start. Odometer says there is ab out 132,000 miles on car, car is clean, motor is clean, what do you think??
Your battery is dead, that's why the starter is not starting the engine. Install a new battery or jump the car, if it still doesn't run, lpease repose problem with more details of the status.
