I am not sure what else u are asking other then the number of fuel injectors, there are six, one in each cylinder of the engine. As far as the code 51 if it keeps coming back the issue is not the O2 sensor, it would be either a engine vacuum leak, fuel injector problems or a defective MAF (mass airflow sensor)

The biggest fluctuation on fuel economy is caused by the driver... The listed MPG that they show is under lab conditions. If you want to increase your fuel economy drive the speed limit, dont over accelerate from stop light to stop light. You can also try replacing your stock air filter with an aftermarket such as K&N filter.

How many miles do u get for a full tank of gas on a v8

It just depends on your tank size. You probably get about 15 -18 miles per gallon. 13 gallon tank would be around 200 miles. 15 gallon tank around 232 miles.

I have a 91 ford f150, My gas mileage has dropped from 14 mpg to 6 mpg. there is a loss of power and smells like its burning rich from the exhaust. after driving for 5 mins the check engine light comes on....

Only use OEM O2 sensors, and I wouldn't be surprised if your Cat Converter is partially plugged and in need of replacement, as your computer reads air quality and adjusts the burn based on the reading from the O2 sensors.

1998 S10 4cyl. The check engine light came on this week and the truck will not idle accelerate smoothly. Mileage per gallon went from 27 mpg to 20 mpg. Could this be a problem with the oxygen sensor?

Yes it can be. Ive had this problem acouple of times. I had to keep my foot on the gas pedal when at stop signs to. Ran rich until I replaced o2 sensor.

We have replaced our 02 sensors twice initally it

Having owned and thoroughly enjoyed an 01 Durango SLT plus for 6 years, congrats on having the "D".

How many miles on your D? Aging O2 sensors can cause mileage to drop. Which engine do you have? The 4.7 or the 5.9?

You will pretty much find that 11-13 mpg in town is the norm, and 17 is normal for hwy cruising. Towing though in either case will have quite an effect.

I have a 1994 legacy with 8000 miles and mpg is very poor . have changed o2 sensor plugs and fuel filter so far and check engine light keeps flashing also. can anyone help. John

The first step to diagnose your problem is to read the fault code(s) from the computer. The larger auto part chain stores will often do this for free. From this, you can determine which sensor is failing.

A broken sensor could be all or just part of the mpg problem. Other causes, which you can investigate after clarifying the check engine light include frozen brake caliper/drum, leak in fuel tank/hose, worn distributor cap/rotor, and maybe some others.

Start by eliminating one problem and move on to the next.

I have a Honda Accord 2003, how can i fix a downstraem Oxygen sensor.. does this affect the gas cosumtion performance.. how can i fix this.. Help.!

o2 sensor is very important part to the engine when it come to the fuel economy. o2 sensor send information to the computer (ECU) which compute and calculate ratio of burnt exhaust gases. if the engine is not run properly either is too lean or too rich the o2 sensor will detect it as the car will triger the check engine light. you can drive the vehicle which will not hurt it as long you can tolerated the light however the car will get terrible gas mileage and poor performance as the ECU will try to lean the engine out itself. o2 sensor is fairly cheap to replace and fix. Let assume the car get 30 mpg on the high way, running with check engine light/bad o2 sensor will change the gas mileage to 18-25 mpg. If the car is V6 make sure you replace o2 on both side. good luck!
