hood release is easy.make a tool - buy small steel rod from hardware store.1st bend 1 inch slight hook2nd bend 3 to 5 inches at 60 degrees anglefold over the handle twice and tape.slide in fish and pull. it opens easy and i can get it within 10 seconds.look at pictures. you need a stiff rod so don'i use a hanger and buythe steel rod same *** as a hanger -thin. bend in vice.so easy.
I own a 1994 Buick LeSabre and I recently experienced the same problem with my hood. When this happened to me I first made sure the hood is fully locked (meaning, I pushed down on the hood making sure it is locked), then I had another person get in the car releasing the hood latch while I was outside with my fingers under the hood pulling up. Once opened, be sure to lubricate the locking mechcanism and the spring and your hood release problem will disappear.
get a pair of good Vise Grip locking pliers, cut back the outer sheath off the cable inside car to expose the inner wire core of the hood release cable, clamp the vise grip locking pliers as hard as poss on the inner wire core, then have someone push down on the hood over the latch area center front of hood, pull the wire core and the hood should release.
Your going to have to use vice grips or pliers. Just pull hard till you hear the hood pop open or have a friend push down on the hood so you can pull in the hood cable easier to unlock the hood latch. Good luck and keep me posted.
can you reach the cable itself?,or is it broke at the hood latch?IF its not broken at the outside latch, try to follow the cable,un-hook it from the handle and pull on the wire cable to open it.IF its broken at the latch itself, you are going to have to reach the latch through the grille and try to pull the lever the cable connects to.That part is no fun at all..!!
