Unless seriously damaged...you can have your radiator rodded and cored...usually carrying a better or equal warranty to new and costing much less...contact a good radiator shop in your area

Thermostat location on 55 ford escort van

The thermostat is locatud on the top of the engine towards the front underneath the upper radiator hose. You shouldnt have to drain all coolant to change the thermostat. There are usually only two bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine.

My van leeks water alot from wear the bottom raideator hose connects to the transmisson . I guess thats wear its connected to? how can it be fixed?

You should be able to replace the sections of tubing (available at the auto parts store)
and use radiator type clamps instead of those cheezy factory ones. If the fitting itself
is leaking, you may take it out and use some teflon tape (white plumbers tape)
to make the fitting more secure. If all else fails, I have retapped these with a
pipe tap by having someone hold a vacuum to pull the chips back, then installed
a brass "hose barb" to threaded pipe fitting in place of the original fitting. The pipe tap
size depends on the fitting size itself. (Last one I did was on a ford and that was 1/4
inch pipe tap). You may need to open the hole to 7/16 inch with a drill (Gently of course).
The auto parts store should carry these items as well, but any hardware store should carry
the taps.
Hope this helps.

How to replace the upper radiator hose on a 2000 chrysler town and country van with a 3.3L engine.

undo the hose clamps on each end of the hose ,if they are spring type clampsyoumay need a pair of pliers or the like to remove them, then pull the hose off, if it is stuck you may need to try & twist it back & forth to break the seal, basically that is all you have to do,then fit the new hose & use new clamps if necessary.....hope this helps.....cheers

Grand vitara radiator over heating

I have had brand new Thermostats that are bad. The way to check a thermostat is to boil it in water and see when it opens. You may need to have your radiator cleaned or roded out. You can also remove your thermostat and see what happens then I would start by flushing the system and see what you get.

WHAT TO DO WITH TUBE FITTINGS ON THE BOTTOM OF MY RADIATOR

It's not necessary to cap off but would be good to keep debris / insects out of there. Nothing will leak if left uncapped.
