Question about 2001 Lincoln LS
My traction control light and... parking break light started coming on while driving for no reason. Then, one day - they went out and have never come back on -- even though I know the traction control and parking break are both working properly. When I would turn on the heat via the "auto" button, the AC light always came on too. Now it doesn't. And -- now the heater comes on but... will not regulate temperature. It goes on HOT and stays HOT. The fan runs on high unless I physically turn it down. Yesterday when I tried to turn the radio down by the steering wheel controls -- the volume went UP instead. YIKES!!! I think my car is possessed!
I had similar issues and it turned out to be the ECM 1300 fix now new probs with door accessories and lights

The LS has several onboard computers that share information on a network. If something on this system shorts or spikes it can cause all kinds of crazy things like this. One of the main culprits for this is ignition coil packs but the coolant control valve has been known to cause these problems also.I suspect that the latter may be the case for you since you only have heat. It mounts to the fan shroud on the passenger side of the car.Try unhooking it and see if this stops the traction control light and parking brake light from coming on.
