I would pull the headlight switch and see if any of the heavy wire connections are burnt, then do a continuity test of the switch to see if it works when turned on, if it does the issue lies with the multifunction switch/turn signal switch.

I would first have the computer checked for trouble codes AFTER the problem occurs.
It will be very difficult for a mechanic to fix if the problem can not be duplicated.

Welcome to the world of BMW's. return the car to the seller. you got a bad one. You got an electrical short draining the battery. Bring a blank check and sign it over to the dealer. They're going to have to run through the entire electrical system to find the short. That work alone is worth more than the a used up 2001 325i.

this is going to be your bcm(body control module). this is simply a computer which controlls all functions of interior and some outside functioms such as lighting. should be under the left side of the dash will aslo incorporate fuses(like a giant fuse block.

Pulled fuse causes car not to start, even after replacement!

Try this.Take off the negative battery connection. Wait at least five minutes. Make sure all the fuse have been placed back. Put the battery cable back then start again. What this does is reset the computer. If this don't work it may have been damaged. Here is a list of things the can damage a computer.
1 when boosting, always start the other car first before hooking up the cable, never hook up the cable then start. 2 Never disconnect power to computer whle the cars is on, or running. such as pulling the fuse or disconnecting the battery while the car is on or running. 3 never use test light to troubleshoot the electrical system, always use a Digital multimeter. Never jump anything unless you are sure what you are jumping. Never apply 12 volts to any wiring unless you really know what you doing. 4 Always replace a bad battery. When battery goes bad, the low voltage in that battery can damage the computer, by making the alternator run harder, if the rectifier in the alternator shorts or leak, it will introduce ac current to the computer, which will damage it.

2004 Galant Battery Fuse... or Fusible Link

so you reversed the connections and you think you nuked something? Right?

Check all fuses and relays. Replace any fuses that are blown and all relays that look scorched/burnt.
If that doesn't work, take to dealer to make sure the computer and advanced control electronics didn't get fried.
