Question about Subaru Impreza

I have a subaru impreza (95) reg, my heater is blowing cold air and my temp gage is on red, the in let hose to rad is hot and the out going hose is cold. what do you think is the problem?

Running hot think it is air locked how do you bleed air from it


Loosen the cap on the rad and run the engine up to operating temperature. Make sure the rad is full, and go for a short drive around the block to warm up the engine. Make sure the heater is turned on high and the fan running full. There will likely be some burping and gurgling going on as the air gets forced out. Keep checking and topping up the rad. Eventually it will stop.You should run it for acouple days with the cap loose to be sure all the air is out. After that, make sure the rad is full, close the cap and top up the overflow bucket.

Heater in 02 Dodge 1500 truck


once the truck is fully warmed up, feel the 2 heater hoses going through the firewall in the engine compartment. they should be hot to the touch. if they are, then the problem is most likely the heater controls, such as the temp. switch on the dash or the blend door itself inside the dash. if they are cool, check that the coolant is completely full. just because the temp gauge reads normal doesn't mean there's enough coolant in the system to fill the heater core. remove the radiator cap once cooled and top off if needed. if it is, or was, low, its possible to get air the the cooling system and block flow of coolant to heater core.

Replaced radiater ,thermastat still no heat and


Did you run engine from cold, WITH HEATER ON, and fill cap off when re-filling system? If not, try that and see what happens. Let the engine get up to operating temperature and rad fan come on to cool 2 or 3 times before putting cap back on.

WELL IS YOU COOLANT LEVEL RIGHT AND IF SO WHEN TRUCK IS WARMING UP CHECK THE RAD HOSE'S AND SEE IF THE LOWER ONE IS GETING WARM ARE NOT OR IF THE TOP IS COLD BUT I WOULD START WITH THERMOSTAT IT'S SOUNDE LIKE IT IS COUSE FLOW ISUSSE HOPE THIS HELPS BUT IF BOTH HOSE ARE HOT AND YOU TOUCHE HEATER HOSE ONE HOT THE OTHER IS NOT THEN IT COULD BE HEATER CORE ISUSES

I think i have a air lock in the rad of my bmw520i


sounds more like a possible heater core issue the heater core is what heats your car by the fan blowing over it and through tour vents ! find the 2 hoses that come out of your firewall on the back side of the engine compartment . run vehicle for 10 to 15 min and see if both of the hoses are hot if one is hot and one is cold heater core is plugged. if both hot have a diff problem. start hear first !!

1993 subaru impreza L heater is not working


if the engine temp seems normal on the dash gauge then it may be a clogged heater core.have the sysyem flushed-it worked for me recentlythe other options may be a heater door not closing..some are vacuum activated a flush is a good place to start..good luck

04 civic heater blows cold air at idle


you should have hot water on all rad. hoses when the motor is running at a norm. temp. the water is not going through the heater core like it should. you have cutoff valve bad low water are a stopped heater.try a hoter thermostat if none of the above are true.

Cooling system problem


try running it to running temp and try to check the heater core hoses. if one is hotter then other may have pluged up heater core.

Heater problems


Did you bleed the air oout of the cooling system - Their is a bleeding next to the therostat housing.


1 - When the vehicle is cold remove the rad(tank) cap and top up the level if needed

2 - start the vehicle with the rad cap off and leave the car run until you can see that the therostat has openned(look in tank/rad) to see fuild flow then open the bleeder slowly to let any air out of the cooling system. Once you have coolant flowing out of the bleeder close the bleeder and install the rad/tank cap.

NOTE - Be careful with the engine running and hot Coolant.

You make need to bleeding system 2-3 time to get all the all out. Once all the air is out of the system you problem should be solved. If air returns to the coolant system have the system checked for possible head gasket leaking air into the coolant system
