84 prelude starting problem

84 Honda Prelude 1.8 liter, 5 speed, dual carb, no air conditioning. Problem started with a clicking noise coming from what a I believe was the pasenger side footwell. car stalled as if ran out of gas. checked fuel filter, checked fuel pump- no voltage going to pump when key is in start or run position. disconnected battery and replaced fuel pump as I had already purchased new one. Still no voltage, ran hot wire direct to fuel pump, am now getting fuel pumped to the carbs, good spark on the plugs, air cleaner new but still won't start. Need car for Tuesday to get to work. Where is the fuel pump relay on this car? I've heard something about resetting the computer, but how. Any help would be greatly appreciated. or email me a phone number and I will call.

Well found this problem is really old but figured I would at least clarify something. An 84 Prelude doesn't really have a computer. It consists of the carbs and 2 boxes full of solenoids and vaccum hoses. It's a bear to work on them too! Good luck!

there is an adjustment bolt on the back side of the idler pulley . you just loosen up the nut on the front of the pulley , then turn the 12 mm bolt under the pump on the back side of the pulley.

SOURCE: 1992 Honda Prelude Timing Belt Diagram

There's no such thing as a timing belt diagram.

Do you mean to say the "Procedure" for changing a timing belt in a 92 Prelude?

By asking such a question I can only interpret it as a clear indication that you've never changed a timing belt before.

If this is true, then you don't want to start out or practice on your own car.

Get the car to a pro and have the job done right.

If not true (and you've changed timing belt's in the past)

Then give me the engine size and I'll post the:

"PROCEDURE" for changing the belt in a few hours.

1998 Honda Prelude H2284 engine 5 spd manual will not start. selenoid on starter clicks power fades

Your problam may be within the starter or starter wiring. Considering the vehicle is manual shift you can try bump starting the car. If the car starts the problem is within the starting circuit and most likely the starter itself.

Carburetor flooding out of the air filter side of the dual carburetors on my 1990 honda prelude. will only happen after its been runnin for a bit. idle is not perfect and may have spmething to do with it....

This sounds like a float problem. The carbs have a fuel chamber each and the amount of fuel in the chambers is controlled by a plastic float and needle valve. Carb will require stripping and cleaning and float adjusted. Not a job for DIY i'm afraid

1989 Honda prelude makes a clicking noise when turning

Sounds like it an outer cv joint on that side. They start making a ticking noise under load and it gets worse as time goes on. Have a shop look it.You'll need a pretty well stocked tool box if you want to do it yourself.
