Go to halfords or somwher like that buy the iso connector for your make and model
if your car still has the ford plugs on the ends of the wires just plug in the connector between car and stereo If the ford plugs are missing cut the ford end off the connector match the wires to your car and solder together and plug into your stereo or any others you buy in the future with an ISO connection Did this with my 89 orion.

I have a 96 escort with no radio ;the wires are there, but i want to install a new radio.i don't know what wires hook up to the new radio

Hi, if the connector is still there, it is easiest to purchase a ford wiring adapter. The adapter will match the factory wires to an aftermarket stereo. If the connector is gone, see your factory wire colors below. Please let me know if you need additional help or have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
