I have a 1992 2500 Chevrolet pickup with a 6.2l backed by a 700r4 transmission. When the trans shifts past od to lockup the torque converter it slips in and out,I have read up some about a solenoid inside the pan. When I bought this truck 3 months ago the guy had unplugged the wire to this selenoid,I plugged it back in and it shifts fine most of the time only at about speeds of 40 to 50 mph does it act up.At 55 or 60 mph.It does allright.Do I need to just change this solenoid to fix the problem.{With the wire unplugged it shifts out ok}.

That
red wire is only for the fuel heater.will not cause a no start.try pumping
the primer pump on top of the fuel flter hsg. but first open the bleed
screw, which is black plastic also located on the top.this will eliminate any
trapped air that might have entered the fuel intake system.if the pump does
not get firmer and harder to push, then you have a leak in the fuel supply
lines or the ck valves in the fuel filter hsg or stuck open. Still no start
have it scanned to ck fuel pressure while cranking.it should be close to 5000
lbs

Very well could be taht the Computer is not recieving the Shift codes Correctly. Just for an Easy Solution, Remove the ECM Fuse from the Fuse panel for 2 or 3 Minutes to Reset the Computer and let me know what you get.
SOURCE: 4L60E Shifts fine in 1st, 2nd, & 3rd but will not shift into OD
check fluid conditon and level, may be a faulty soleniod
SOURCE: 4L60E Shifts fine in 1st, 2nd, & 3rd but will not shift into OD
The EMC detected and problem so it's in limp mode, As long as it's in limp mode the 4th and OD will not activate. Take care not to burn up the transmission by running it hard while your in the limp mode.
Your going to have to get the truck scanned to clear any codes and why there are DTC codes. Auto Zone scan for free and most auto shops charge $10.00 to $20.00 to scan sine they want the business.
If you want to clear the codes your self you can put the ignition to the run position and pull the ECM (Batt) fuse out for 20 sec and place it back in then start the truck. It may stall but let it, just start it again and this would have cleared all the DTC code history.
The transmission should be running fine unless there is a problem and the service engine light will be on again and you'll be in limp mode still with an updated DTC in the ECM.
Good luck and hope this helps.
