How to remove speed sensor

1992 Nissan Maxima with 3 litre, SOHC engine. Speed sensor on the automatic transmission will not come off (after removeing retaining bolt of course). It will rotate no problem but will not lift out of the port. I don't want to force it. Is there an O-Ring which may cause it to be tight on removal/installation? Any other issues that would cause it to stick in place

Yes there is a O- ring just use a screwdriver under tab you took bolt out of and it should pop right out.

Speed sensor location on a Nissan Maxima 2000 gxe

There are two speed sensors one is called a revolution sensor that is located on the case of the transmission. You can take the driver side wheel off and see the sensor on the top of the case of the transmission. A 10mm bolt is holding it in. Easy fix

92 nissan maxima --variable speed (something like that) transmission--many transmisson forthis model--trying to change filter--some models require transmission removal--how can one tell which transmission...

Brillo pad, maybe a 2" mirror on a wire or gimbal (dental mirrors are a little small), flashlight. The model and serial numbers are on the side, and if you managed to take the thing off, on the ring inside the gasket face attaching it to the engine. Or, remember the service history/ask it of a Nissan Certified shop.

Where is the speed sensor located on a 1991 Nissan

the speed sensor is on the the tail housing of the transmission, located by the firewall straight down from the back of the engine, it is a round looking sensor on the top of the housing has a 2 wire plug with about a 8 in. lead, but it may not be the problem, I have one also that I think is the speedo itself, this sensor sends the signal right to the speedo and then the speedo have a processor that sends the signal to the ecm.
