My 97 jimmy auto transmission wont shift to 3rd . rpm just go up and sounds like im in neutral . just started this yesterday..single broke mom needs help please

Make sure your tranmission oil level is correct. You need to check it with the vehicle warm and running with it in park. If the oil seems dark or smells burnt that is not a good sign. There are shift solenoids in your transmission that can fail but you need a scan tool to troubleshoot those. If you have an Aamco transmission shop near they may test it for free. It also may be more that just a shift solenoid and may need a new transmission.

Need a rough estimate on how much it will cost to have a cv boot repaired on an 1997 GMC Jimmy 4x4.

A transmission shop would cast about 1 hour labor plus the parts. Labor cost is around $75.00 an hour here, and the Reman CV joint with the core exchange is around $80.00 and without the core exchange $160.00. Hope this helps. So best i can give you an average $225.00 but call around a reputable transmission shop, since they work on this type of repair all the time. Good luck.
