Did you replace the ecu ? if you did , you have to get them reprogrammed by the dealer . if it is the same one , try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes to clear out the computer . also if you left the battery hooked up when you removed it , or dismounted it , it probably lost ground and made it act wacky.

I have a 05 nissan altima 2.5 that I just got my head replaced.when me and my dad took it off we un hooked everything like battery cables sparkplugs altnater timeing etc..... well got the head back put it...

free spinning- sounds like no compression- possibly due to valve timing not set properly-I would start there because everything is managed by computor these days and if somethings not right other things like fuel and spark management won't work- cheers Denny

1991 Geo Tracker Won't Start - Has No Spark And No Fuel Replaced: Control Module, Coil, Igniter, Distributor, Rotor And Cap, Main And Fuel Pump Relays, Under Hood Main Fuse Box And Fuses, Fuel Filter, Is...

sounds like canada or USA car, is it?
i just restored one, know it like back of hand.
no inertial switch, of any kind, no upside down car switch. like my mazda either. and that cuts fuel not spark.'

want to trouble shoot it or guess and go broke?
no spark, clear as day, and the ECU cuts fuel with no spark.
so forget fuel. totally.
ready to fix spark?
and you said no spark but failed to say,
at the coil or all 5 places. big deal that....

the ECU will talk to you, and tell you why, 1/2 the time.
is your tachometer dead, cranking> 4x4 have tach.
and will move to 0.3K rpm that is 3/10s of below 1 mark.
the 1 means 1000, so 3ths is 300 rpm. cranking. does it?
if not the ECU will throw,,no spark codes, 2nd clue.
what to learn?
http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/no-spark.html

first check for spark that the ignition coil. center tower.
how:
in 1991,in the USA the spark creation changed, radically
the ECU generates park, in this way.
CMP in dizzy makes cam signal (there is no crank trigger in 91)
the CMP makes perfect square way
the ECU sees that. and triggers the ignitor
the ignitor charges the coil, and spark happens at the coil tower.
does yours?

if the eCU sees a missing CMP signal you get code 41.
if the ecu sees missing spark read back, code 42
you must crank for 5 seconds release the key to see codes of this type.,class.
do you know how to use the diagnostic jumper paper clip yet.

My Spark 2004 800cc only start when engine is hot in the morning or at night when the engine is cold the car don't start but if the car start after several attemps you can smell petrol as if the car...

check the coolant temp. sensor for the Engine ECU as it might be faulty and gives wrong information about the engine temp. so if it feel the car is cold it'll ask the Engine ECU to give command to the fuel injectors to flow more fuel into the firing chamber and then it'll be fluded and won't start easily..

You started the right way.
It sounds like it needs a tune-up.
Change the sparkplugs - Use Autolite Platinum ($3.87 for two at WalMart; $6 each at AutoZone)

Also, check for faulty sparkplug cables as follows:
1. When it is getting dark outside, set the parking/emergency brake.
2. Open the hood.
3. Start the car and look under hood for "sparks" from the sparkplug cables to the engine (or other metal part).
4. DON'T TOUCH anything under the hood! The cables can shock you (bad!) or the fan can cut you or the Boogeyman may reach out ... (sorry)...
5. Turn off car .. that ends the cable spark test.
6. Replace ALL sparkplug cables if any create a light show under the hood.

Hope this helps!
(It's the plugs)

Hi there, there are numerous possibilities on what it could be so i have listed below in order to change first cheapest to the most expensive. 1. Change Sparkplugs and leads 2. Get an auto electrition to check your altinator it may need changing 3. If your car is EFI (Electronic Fuel Injected) change the coil pack, if not EFI change or recondition your distributor 4. Could be a sensor or a solinoide problem 5. If its EFI it could also be the ECU/ECM which means your computer for the car.
