1989 Ford Aerostar

I just acquired my van and althought its an old car it has alot of issues that i cant seem to figure out. The main issue right now is the speedometer is broken and i cant figure out how to fix that, next issue it just turns off for no reason sometimes when im driving.. its not the battery cause the radio and lights stay on, the fuel gauge is also broken and it overheats atleast once a week but i cant seem to find a leak in the radiator or coolant tank. HELP?

They are mounted on the inside right front fender area. The low-pitch horn is the uppermost horn assembly and the high-pitch horn is mounted just below and forward of it.

I have a problem i have a 1989 ford aerostar and the belt on it broke. this belt keeps the battery from dieing and the van from over heating.

Check all the pullies that run the belt, make sure they all spin free without any looseness or noise. If so, replace the belt.

If I had the money, my 1995 Aerostar would alrready be in a repair garage. I am a 70YR. old and handicapped. and a very sm. Social Security check. My van is extreemly hard to start. Can / Will anybody...

Be sure to run the lowest octane that your car allows, FORD has had slow to start complaints that were traced to this issue.

Check your timing chain for looseness and chech secondary ignition for corrosion.

1997 Ford Aerostar...rattle in front wheels...rattle stops when I step on the brakes... Also...vibration when I accelerate and when I slow down.

Hello, it sounds like you have a possible wheel bearing or brake problem. first support the van on jackstands and shake the front tires, if you feel alot of play in the wheel bearings they may need to be tightened up, this is done by using a torque wrench to set the bearing load, if you need to get the torque sequence it can be found in the repair manuals at auto parts stores. if you shake the wheels and it feels tight with no excessive play it may be a brake issue, you need to look at the backing plate to make sure it isnt rubbing on the rotor.

1989 Ford aerostar van sputters and stalls.

have you had the throttle cleaned? Sounds like your fuel pump may be getting hot and cutting out. Its possible it could be a faulty ignition module, but that usually just causes a no start not a suptter and stall.

Is the 1995 ford aerostar a good mini van?

There were alot of problems with the 3.8 V6. Overheating and head cracking. You'd be very lucky to find a 95 without the proble. 95-96 were the worst years. May want to consider the Mercury villager. Same as the Nissan Quest.
