Question about 2005 Ford Five Hundred

2005 Ford Five Hundred interior lights and windows do not work

As above interior lights in car and trunk do not work. Can not use electrical on windows. Suspect a fuse is out. Is there a way to know which fuse in the fuse box may be blown. Have located the fuse box

The fuse box you need is under the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel. The fuse you need is F2. It is next to the bottom one on the far left. There are 4 fuses on the far left. They are numbered F1-F4 from the bottom up. Good luck

Why won't it idle above 1000 rpm?


no supposed to idle higher than that , usually even less .

F2 fuse for windows/interior lights blows as soon as it is replaced


Check the door switches for a short and the dome light.

check fuel cut-off switch, shut fuel down on in impact.think its located in trunk, check owners manual. ;hope this helps.

2005 ford five hundred , passenger mirror fried, electical smell


Sometimes your car insurance will pay for this as a fire claim. You do not have to fix it yourself. My Olds lit up the dash, the insurance covered it and a Rental.

As for the 4 fuses there may be a fusible link to power these. Also since most are only required when the engine is running, they may be dead until the ignition is turned on.

How do you get access to the tail lights to change a bulb? 2005 Ford 500 I don't know how to remove the trunk liner to get at the bulbs

  1. Remove the 3 nuts and the rear lamp assembly.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

Rear lights stopped working on my Ford Five Hundred


my 05 has 3 nuts that hold the taillight assembly onto the car. in the trunk, pull the matting back, my be some snaps holding or cargo hooks. unscrew or pull, then take the 3 nuts off and entire tail light assembly should come off. Then twist out the correct but connector.
