Question about 1988 Chevrolet S-10

2 Answers

I have a 2000 Chevy S-10 w/ ZR2 package. The four wheel drive quit working a month ago. I was told to replace the dash switch and did but the 4 wheel still does not work. When I press the 4wheel hi button on the dash, the light blinks for about 5 seconds then the light goes back to the 2 wheel hi button and the truck remains in 2 wheel hi. Any ideas of what to do next? winter is here and I need this fixed.

but when I went to pull fuses, I didn't understand which fuse was the ATC fuse, and if it was in cab or under hood.

Try resetting your 4x4 computer. You will need to pull the courtesy lamp and ATC fuses for 1 minute then reinstall fuses, next cycle key on and off 5 times. this is a common problem with an easy fix. Please rate.

I got my 2002 chevy blazer with ZR2 package into deep water and shorted out my 4 wheel drive control module (located under the kick plate on the passenger side). I took the module out and had it replaced...

what sounds like is happening is the front end is not disengaging, it will not hurt it to drive without the module, but you need to find out why the front diff. actuator is not releasing. their is a shift motor on the transfer case, module and switch in the cab, and actuator on the front diff. all are susceptable to water, I would suggest getting a manual on it to aid in diagnostics

2000 blazer 4 wheel drive problem

It's most likely the "four wheel drive actuator" This is located on the front differential housing. It's cylindrical shaped and has a large hex (about
1-1/4") and two wires coming out of it. Usually they short out and blow the fuse but, I've also seen where they just quit working and sometimes they just get slow to work. The "actuator" has a heating element in it and it warms up, some sort gas, causing it to expand thus engaging the front wheels. In cold weather it may take a minute or so for it to engage, so put in four wheel drive and wait for a bit and see what happens.

I have a 2000 chevy s10 zr2 4x4 and the four wheel drive isnt working sometimes it will work and others it wont even activate

there is a vacuum actuator under the battery tray. it is the most common cause for this issue. also the cable that goes from that actuator to the differential stretches sometimes causing it to engage and not engage depending on how bad it is.

if you have any more question please ask/

On my 2000 chevy S-10 ZR2, speed 4 of my fan stopped working

It's not the motor, if you have replaced the resistor/relay and that didn't work then it is likely the switch.
