2000 chevy impala - faulty directionals, sometimes
2000 chevy impala v6. sometimes directional lights work, then other times, they don't. there seems to be no rhyme or reason that i can pinpoint as to why they work, or stop working. has been happening for the past year and a half. thanks, in advance.

I had the same problem with the turn signals. It turns out it was the 4-way hazard switch. When the problem is ocurring, hit the hazard button in your dash on then off. If it starts working, that's probably it. I ended up replacing mine myself. I was able to do it without removing the dash, but, the plastic on the old switch had to be broken in order for me to do so.

first it to verify the coolant flow. I suspect the heater core isn't flowing, you may need to take a garden hose and take both heater hoses off, and flush in both directions to clean the heater core. flush in both directions until you get clean water flow. I am assuming the coolant level is OK, and the water pump is pumping and the engine is getting warm enough.
I own a 2000 impala ls and encountered the same problem. My solution to my problem was buy a new light switch and it worked. The circuits on the old one seemed to be burned so thats why they would come on sometimes. To install the new switch you need to remove the faceplate on the dash board and behind it you will find two screws holding it in place remove the screws and unplug the switch and replace.
