Question about 1998 Nissan Frontier
I have a 98 Nissan Frontier manual. The starter is fine and all fuses are fine. It will not crank. Have power. I cannot locate the starter relay switch. Can you tell me exactly where it is?
Sometimes its the simple things. On the foot pedal for the clutch are rubber grommets that push the switch in on the manual trans. they get old and fall off or develop holes in them so the switch does not get depressed.

For manual transmission, there is a clutch interlock switch on a bracket above clutch pedal. It may be out of adjustment. The clutch interlock relay (If this is what you called starter relay switch on your posting) is located inside the relay box, engine compartment, passenger side, should be the third one from the front of vehicle, but this relay is rarely failed. Hope this will help. Let me know email@example.com

Hi the starter relay you ask of is actually part of starter motor it is a heavy duty relay known as the starter solenoid it is the cylindrical object attached to starter and has the positive battery lead attached if when you turn key to start and nothing happens ? check the solenoid and you should see a thin wire? not cable! this wire should be attached to its own spade or push on post on solenoid and be clean/secure? this wire provides power from ign to energise solenoid when key start is selected you might also check that all batt terminals and earth leads tho chassis /engine are also secure ? if all ok as to above ? then tap starter lightly with hammer ? whilst some one operates starter? if it works? then check/starter brushes for wear hope this helps ?

Check interlock relay for preventing start if not in park.
