The only relay in the system is the starter relay on the starter, most people call this a solenoid, but it is a heavy duty relay, is this an automatic or manual? have you checked the nuetral safety switchs?

Sometimes its the simple things. On the foot pedal for the clutch are rubber grommets that push the switch in on the manual trans. they get old and fall off or develop holes in them so the switch does not get depressed.

For manual transmission, there is a clutch interlock switch on a bracket above clutch pedal. It may be out of adjustment. The clutch interlock relay (If this is what you called starter relay switch on your posting) is located inside the relay box, engine compartment, passenger side, should be the third one from the front of vehicle, but this relay is rarely failed. Hope this will help. Let me know tuanlele@hotmail.com

Hi the starter relay you ask of is actually part of starter motor it is a heavy duty relay known as the starter solenoid it is the cylindrical object attached to starter and has the positive battery lead attached if when you turn key to start and nothing happens ? check the solenoid and you should see a thin wire? not cable! this wire should be attached to its own spade or push on post on solenoid and be clean/secure? this wire provides power from ign to energise solenoid when key start is selected you might also check that all batt terminals and earth leads tho chassis /engine are also secure ? if all ok as to above ? then tap starter lightly with hammer ? whilst some one operates starter? if it works? then check/starter brushes for wear hope this helps ?

MIGHT BE A RELAY ! LOCATED UNDER HOOD, YOU SHOULD SEE RELAY BOX NEXT TO BATTERY. MAKE SURE BATTERY TERMINALS ARE CLEANED, PUT SOME VASOLINE ON TERMINALS, RECONNECT, TIGHTEN. CHECK ALL GROUND WIRES. ARELAY BOX MAY ALSO BE LOCATED NEXT TO POWER STEERING . COULD HAVE A FAULTY SOLONOID@ STARTER, IGNITION SWITCH COULD ALSO BE FAULTY, ITS NEVER EASY TO PINPOINT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, PROCESS OF ALIMINATION, CHECK ALL STARTING CIRCUIT SYSTEMS, IS YOUR SHIFT LEVER ALL THE WAY IN PARK ? DOES ENGINE CRANK ? OR DEAD, NO POWER ? ARE YOU GETTING SPARK ? HOW ABOUT FUEL ? DID YOU REPLACE BOTH THE AIR &FUEL FILTERS ? THE STARTER / SOLONOID IS WHAT CRANKS THE ENGINE, I THINK YOUR PROBLEM IS THERE ! REPLACE RELAY TO STARTING SYSTEM, ARE YOUR SPARK PLUG WIRES NEW ! THEY WILL SHORT OUT ANY SPARK IF OLD, DIRTY, I SUGGEST A TUNEUP, NEW FILTERS, AND REPLACE STARTER/SOLONOID !!!!!!

2004 nissan frontier cylinder wont crank over sometimes

First thing to check would be the starter solenoid-mounted on the starter. In the starting circuit, that is the most high use/high wear item. A tech would wait for the no start condition, then check the solenoid wire for power when key is held in the cranking position. If power is there, it indicates a faulty solenoid. If no power, trace the signal back to the ignition switch-from solenoid to starter relay to clutch switch to ignition switch.
There are contact points (plates, really) inside the solenoid that become pitted and burned from use, and eventually wear down or out.

It should be in the fuse-relay box in the engine compartment and should be listed in your owners manual.

98 nissan frontier cranks but wont start when hot

Unless the head gasket is leaking, I would think you are looking for something electrical that is not working when hot, or a fuel problem.
Do you know if you have spark and fuel pressure when it will not start ?

The starter solinoid is on the top of starter. Short the two large terminals on it, if the starter turns then the solinoid is faulty. If not then the starter is faulty.

Won't crank, relay good.

Fuse would be in the outside fuse box. Look for the one labeled starter. If you are not getting power to the starter, could be an ignition switch.

I have a 1998 Nissan Frontier. It will not start. I have check fuses and starter and battery. Have power but won't start. Cannot locate the Starter Relay Switch. Where exactly is it located?

Does the starter crank the engine over? Saying your truck won't start could mean that the starter spins be the engine won't fire. If the starter is not spinning is it at least clicking?

Air conditioning Fan

Actually the relay is not the problem here. Your blower resistor has gone bad. The resistor reduces the amount of power going to the fan, thus allowing the slower speeds. I don't know the exact location, though it is typically in the blower housing.
