As long as you are running on all cylinders there can be a few things wrong. mass air flow, slipping clutch, etc....

If i was you i would first check your maf.thats your mass air flow sensor.make sure that all of your connectors look good .you could also check your tps sensor.that is your throttle position sensor.other than those i would also check your fuel pressure.bad regulator or dampner could do that, i have a 1990 also only mine is twin turbo and had all kinds of probs when i got it so just hang in there and if you have n e q's e me at krunk24@yahoo.com

What is the problem with white smoke emission on my diesel engine?

It is burning engine oil, if it is turbo charged the turbo has most likely broken the shaft.

Hi i got a 94 850 turbo i was driving one day i have automatic so i pressed sport mode to pass someone i went from 35 to 55 then a loud pop bang whatever you call it came and i felt no power at all it...

I used to have one of these a long time ago, what you have done is blown the turbo, you will need another one. if you ever have a turbo problems you should have it fix as soon as possible turbos are not cheap. engine is in limp mode and will not be using the turbo or the timing so you will be on slow speeds.

Golf tdi 1.9 2002 , 296000kms. turbi fitted 8 months ago. now takes long to pick up speed but on flats is better. not enough power

installing a new turbo on a vehicle can cause increased "turbo lag" in the system as the new turbo is not tuned exactly right, or worn in the same as the engine. If you take your vehicle to a mechanic and ask him to tune your turbo you might find some relief (with many turbos this is possible, but not all). This is a delicate procedure and should be completed by a professional (tuning the turbo for the car includes setting the exact pressure increase in the engine -- especially with a diesel engine, over-pressurizing the system can cause the engine to fire improperly and cause massive damage). A mechanic will also be able to tell you if there is something else wrong with the vehicle (like a clogged fuel filter, weak fuel pump or something similar) that could be causing the problem.

I feel the turbo barely works on the truck as it is VERY slow to want to accelerate .. is there a way to adjust it ???? it is a 5 speed 6.5

There is no way to adjust the turbo. It is possible that the turbo on your truck is no longer working. You also could have a fuel filter stopped up. When you rev up the engine and then let up, does it take it a little while to idle back down? If so, then you probably need to replace your fuel filter. Let me know if this helps.

Passat 1.8t turbo problem

A bearing going bad. Do you follow turbo shut down procedures? If you don't have time to do this then my suggestion is installing a turbo timer to do this automatically. When you drive the car specially a high speed and need to shut down the engine is the worse thing you can do to your turbo. The impeller spins double the speed of sound and takes quite a while to slow down specially when you shut down the engine. At the same time it is shut down, oil pressure is no longer provided by the oil pump and cooking from extremely hot turbo assembly. The end product is oil carbonizing and clogging moving parts. The term is called coking. A turbo timer will keep your engine running when you remove the key from ignition and lock the vehicle for a programmable amount of time. This will help the turbo to spin dow while lowering the temperature critical for a longer servie life of your turbo charger.

1999 nissan terrano diesel turbo is lacking power , brand new fuel pump and comp chip installed and has run like **** since, has been put through comp diagnosis but no fault showing,(is very slow 2 pickup...

Possibly the "Mass airflow sensor". I had a similar problem, basically the car behaved like it didn't have a turbo and was really slow. Unfortunately the Mass airflow sensor is expensive, about AU$800. Only failed once several years ago. Hope this helps.
