Question about 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix

1 Answer

Both doors on a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix won't open

All was fine and I went to the store, got out and locked the car. When I came out 15 minutes later I couldn't get in the drivers side. Was able to open the passenger side but once open it wouldn't close. Finally, I was able to get the passenger side to close but now I can't get in my car at all. The police came and tried to open the doors for me but weren't able.

Is there some trick to getting in when this happens and what would a long-term solution be. It's very cold here; could the door latches/locks be sensitive to cold?

I had the same problem. What I do now is get in from either one of the two back doors(I have a 4 door). A long term solution would be to take it to the body shop and get the mechanism fixed or buy a remote starter kit and hook it up so that you can also roll the windows down from outside the car. Problem solved.

Why would my 2008 Pontiac Gran Prix start with my factory remote then not start when I went out with the key?

Lock the doors then unlock the driver door with the key. My 03 mustang has done that several times too

My sons's has a 1995 Grand Prix. He can not get in to either front door. He can unlock it from the inside, but can't open from the outside.

You will need to open the door, take the door panel off and reattach the connecting rod that goes to the outside handle.

the door seal is probably the culprit.if it has ever been opened after the keys were locked in it the seal was damaged.get someone to sit in the car and spray it at a car wash with high pressure around the door seals

Stalling. starts 15 minutes later. runs good for a week.

O.M.G. THE BATTERY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 80-95 BUCKS. AND THE TERMINAL IS ABOUT 5 BUCKS TO BUY. TAKE THE CAR TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE THAT CHECKS THE ENGINE CODES FOR FREE.......MAKE SURE THAT THEY CAN CHECK FOR PENDING CODES AS WELL. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A CRANK SENSOR. OH AND BY THE WAY, MOST AUTO PARTS STORES WILL INSTALL A BATTERY THAT YOU PURCHASE AT THEIR STORE FOR FREEEEEEEEEEEEE.!!!!!!!!!!!!..... PLEASE FIND A BETTER MECHANIC. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. BEST OF LUCK. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED, CAUSE I AM REALLY CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT YOU FIND.
