Hi Al! Try this….(it worked for me after trying absolutely EVERYTHING!)
1.turn ECON ON 2.set temp to 72 degrees 3.turn ON front windsceen demist switch, and leave on.(its not a heated front screen switch,it only sends the warm air direct to the windscreen!) 4,turn the rear window heated demist ON for 5mins(or until rear screen clears) After about 5mins or so the whole of my car and windows are damp free, and they STAY THAT WAY!! Give it a try, Regards Pete

the windscreen fog is from humid air coming in from the outside
air conditioners work by removing the humidity from the air so if you close of the outside vent then the recirculated air inside the cabin eventually has all the moisture removed
that is why the windscreen clears because there is no moist air to condense on the cold windscreen
now you will say that it is too cold and that is why you turn it off
well try this -- leave the ac on and adjust the heater control to produce lukewarm air no fogging up and not cold
it is called climate control
Correct. The ac runs in defrost mode to help dry the air blowing on the windshield. The cabin has too much moisture in the air. You need fresh outside air and it needs to be dried by the ac to work correctly. So if the cabin air filter is dirty you would not get enough fresh air.
Firstly, try disconnecting both your battery connections, and with the battery disconnected, turn the ignition switch fully, 3- 4 times ( To just discharge the computers ) Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + ) first. This usually cures your problem.
