I have exactly the same problem with my Passat. The only way to keep the windows from not misting up is to have to aircon on and the blower on full power. The windows get really wet inside the car and makes it really difficult to drive.

I'm not clear as what the answer is. Can you let me know if you have fixed yours?

There is some mositer in the vents of the car i think there may be a leak letting water in to a vent on your dash fixleak then find the water in the duct work of the car then drain then let it dry

Hi Al!
Try this….(it worked for me after trying absolutely EVERYTHING!)

1.turn ECON ON
2.set temp to 72 degrees
3.turn ON front windsceen demist switch, and leave on.(its not a heated front screen switch,it only sends the warm air direct to the windscreen!)
4,turn the rear window heated demist ON for 5mins(or until rear screen clears)
After about 5mins or so the whole of my car and windows are damp free, and they STAY THAT WAY!!
Give it a try,
Regards Pete

Why does my kia picanto 2013 windscreen totally mist up and will only clear when i put ac on hwen it clears i turn ac off then within seconds it mists up again

the windscreen fog is from humid air coming in from the outside
air conditioners work by removing the humidity from the air so if you close of the outside vent then the recirculated air inside the cabin eventually has all the moisture removed
that is why the windscreen clears because there is no moist air to condense on the cold windscreen
now you will say that it is too cold and that is why you turn it off
well try this -- leave the ac on and adjust the heater control to produce lukewarm air no fogging up and not cold
it is called climate control

Windows misting up

Check where the mist is forming.
Does it smell like anti-freeze?

A lite mist on passenger side with loss of coolant you should do a coolant pressure test.

Condensation of Interior of 54 Volkswagen Passat

The ac runs in defrost mode to help dry the air blowing on the windshield. The cabin has too much moisture in the air.
You need fresh outside air and it needs to be dried by the ac to work correctly. So if the cabin air filter is dirty you would not get enough fresh air.

Heater warms up in morning but over the day only gives cold air despite being set at 22degrees. VW dealership says when set at 22degrees it will warm up to 30degrees and then introduce cold air to bring...

vw fit 3 types of aircon,
1.full climate control (you set temp is stays there)
2.climatronic (as your dealer said.....)
3.aircon std (cold draft)
you cannot change whats fitted to another type.

Hi Badrick

Firstly, try disconnecting both your battery connections, and with the battery disconnected, turn the ignition switch fully, 3- 4 times ( To just discharge the computers ) Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + ) first.
This usually cures your problem.

Good Luck
