The solenoid on the starter motor is bad. You can just replace the solenoid or the entire starter.

SOURCE: my rodeo wont start and i have no power throughout

Providing the new battery is charged up, and your cables are tight on the battery end and at the starter and the ground wire is good and well grounded... there should be a fusible link in your positive cable. It has probably blown. It's a thick spot on your cable. Use a test light to see if there is power at both ends of the cable. At the battery post, and the starter.

SOURCE: 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6 Oil Burning and motor tapping loudly

Do a compression test on all the cylinders and see if the rocker arms are adjusted to the right. If the compression is bad then there will be no power at all and if the Rocker arms need adjustments you could be losing some power there too.
You can try cleaning out the engine from the inside out. I have done this many times when I buy a use car. I run Marvel Mystery Oil with the engine oil for about 4 months and keep an eye on the oil level. Marvel is a thinner oil and clean out the inside by removing the carbon collected and oil sludge inside the engine.
You may end up having to replace the oil pressure sensor, it seams to always be the first to go bad and may get some oil leaks. But once the engine is cleaned up you'll have a better understanding on the condition on the engine and be surprised on how well it runs after.
Just keep an eye on the oil level and change the oil and filter to free up the engine, then use the recommended oil and add Lucas oil and or Restor to help the loose of compression.
The loud tapping tells me that your not getting the oil to the top of the engine and that may be a bad oil pump but it may also be a plugged oil pump screen and the Marvel Mystery oil will clean up the oil screen.
Good luck and hope this helps, Keep me posted on your Rodeo.

SOURCE: 97 isuzu trooper. Starter motor has no power.

Check the battery and cables going to the starter. Weak arc? Possible that the relay needs to be rechecked now. The inertia switch may also be a possibility. Has the car been in a recent fender bender?

I have a 95 rodeo Turbo diesel the problem is the motor will turn over but won't start I can push start it and when it's hot it starts fine I have no glow plug light on dash can u help

Battery, starter. Diesels have to turn over fairly fast to get started. If the battery is low on amps or the starter is dragging could be the problem. I would also look at fixing the glow plugs if they aren't working. Just because the light doesn't come on, doesn't mean they aren't working.

How do I repair a 1990 toyota hiace diesel starter motor

Hold down windings in the starter are going bad, if you can replace the solonoid by it's self you can go that route.

If you have to rebuild it for lack of parts, you will be looking for bad contacts on the plunger that makes contact for main power, and the hold down windings power lead that goes to them, or the windings themselves have an issue.

Trouble with starter motor struggles to start in

Check battery cables and all cables on starter for loose connections. Look for corroded cables and don't forget to inspect the ground connection. Check voltage at starter with key off and while cranking if possible. Voltage shouldn't drop below 10V if all is well. Diesel vehicles usually have a higher torque starter, maybe gear reduction. Depending on age of vehicle, could be worn out. If you're a DIY guy, remove it and take it to your auto parts store for testing.

2001 mustang gt,all access. work fully charged

I would suspect the starter solenoid has failed.

A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. In many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of the engine.

The starter solenoid receives a large electric current from the car battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent to the starter solenoid. This causes the starter solenoid to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. The starter motor is an electric motor that initiates piston motion in a car's internal combustion engine before it can power itself.

When Starting the car doesn't turn over right a way. Usually makes a long high pitched sound, I know there is plenty of power from the battery. Is this problem the starter? BTW this car is gas not diesel

the high pitched sound is most probably a worn bush in the bell housing the starter motor needs to be removed first because the starter motor doesn,t havbe an end casting the starter drive sits in a busch in the bell housing this busch is a common fault for wearing

Brand new battery put in the car in the evening, by morning the battery was dead. Is there something that is causing the drain on the batter while the car is off?

If your engine is a diesel then it may be the relay for the glow plugs which is shot

As long as the dashboard lights are off when you leave the motor at night there should be no drain effect if there is then you have a short on the loom or a coil

Only way to check it is to hook an meter into the circuit and see how much current is being drawn when the engine is shut off

You then need to unhook items like the starter motor and window motors even the alarm in a one at a time order until you see that drain stop.
