Question about 2002 Acura 3.2TL
This usually means your brake pads are worn and need to be replaced. The brake light on the dash will only come on when the brake fluid level is low or the parking brake is on.
Worn pads cause the level to drop low enough to activate the warning light when breaking. It often come on when the car is cold or just started and go away after driving for a while.

Intermit problems can be a night mare. It does sound like the brake light switch is what causing the problem. You have a good chance a voltage drop test would tell if the switch is what causing the problem. Depending on the price of the brake light switch I would take a gamble and replace it.
