Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
After running for awhile it shuts off like as if u shut the key off, it will restart and shut off rght away. i have replaced the fuel pump and filter and new plugs. i used my otc and it has not come up with anything any help?
Without testing, best guess is to check the crank sensor (check cold and hot, when problem is happening) This sensor is a magnetic coil pickup and may be shorting when hot) Pickup is on left side of bellhousing and can be tested for output with a digital ohmeter. I don't have the specs but they are easy to find in nearly every repair manual. I think its 200 (+) (-) 75ohms.Anything outside of that is suspect. The sensor itself is a pain in the **** to get to.... To replace, I've gone as far as cutting slots into the ears, so the screws can be left in bellhousing and the sensor slides under them, Anyhow, it takes patience, especially working on the ground.
