I have a 93 fzj80 series, mine is full time 4wd. now are you stuck in 4wd low range ??? if so to help disengage the 4wd low. shift the transfer case to high range and drive in reverse a few feet then forward twice the distance or so you traveled in reverse. this is how it is done on the fzj80 series, at least for mine.

Take the steering to etreem left nd right and then try to remove the gear stick strongly.....go front and back ....this is very normal in all 4WD and you should be with a brave heart to remove the stick.....hahahaha

good luck

Stuck in 4 wheel drive

The encoder motor that shifts the transfer case might be INOP. Try backing up slowly as you try to disengage 4wd. If still stuck you may need to replace that motor.

Have 2005 chevy silverado stuck in 4wd-lo will not shift to 2wd all lights are out checked fuses are fine

If all the lights are out then the 4wd switch is bad but,if it won't come out of 4wd-low then the 4wd actuator is bad or stuck. The 4wd actuator is what engages the differential from 2wd to 4wd.HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I recently shifted into 4WD, then back to 2WD. My 4WD light will not go off. I don't believe it is stuck in 4WD (No grabbing of front tires on dry pavement). Transfer case is full. Switch appears to be...

There is a switch that when triggered will illuminate the 4wd light. That switch is stuck in the on position. Check the transmission linkage that is attached to the 4wd. There are not many switches, so it should not be hard to find. It is probably just dirty and has gotten stuck. Use some wd40 to get it working again, and worst case scenario, you will have to replace it.

My 2006 Jeep commander seems to be stuck in 4wd.. when i drove it last night it was just fine. got up this morning for work and its stuck.. dash displays service 4wd system...any help on what could have...

we dont know what 4wd option you have , so how can we answer you. Impossible that be.

part time 4wd PT
or full time. awd
do not drive part time, on non icing pavement, are you on dirt?
not posting road conditions also makes all answers wrong.
if you attempt to use PT or lock on dry pavement you will damage the car.
ever read the operators guide yet>?

what does stuck mean
car stuck
lever stuck
just light stuck, and drives ok
is steering acting odd , like it does in 4low, or PT ?
