Question about 1991 Ford F150
I can start the start the truck but when i try to shift into gear it won't go in. i hold the brake the whole way to the floor and it still takes me about 10 minutes until it releases.
The problem could be the brake switch. Before you crank your engine, turn the key to the on position, this bypasses the brake switch. You should be able to shift into any gear. If you can, start it and drive it, but ever time you shift into park, you will have to turn your truck off and repeat the process. If that is the case, have the brake switch replaced. If that does not work, something could be wrong with the linkage between the shifter and the transmission. Or something could be wrong with the transmission. Good luck.
