Open door and look for a button (usually black) sticking out on the body or a lever looking switch. Push it all the way in, or one way if lever, and see if light goes out. It should. Hello duct tape !! You can usually tell where it touches your door by wear mark on door if you'd rather put a few layers there to try that.

Does anyone know where I can find the undermounted spare tire harness ? I have searched all over and it seems that the tailgate harness is available yet I cant locate the undermounted harness. Please...

Hi,
Your spare tire is attached usin a cable system under the rear center of the truck. When you open the liftgate, in the center bottom there is a plastic panel with a bolt in the center near the liftgate door jamb lock mechanism. Use your tire lug nut tool to loosen (turn counterclockwise) this bolt and it will loosen the cable system dropping your spare to the ground. Dont forget to tighten the cable back up raising the retainer back to its original position after using the spare. When you get your flat tire fixed, you can drop the cable again and put your spare back under the truck......Mike

Removing the spare tire

Typically in larger sized passenger vehicles the spare will be stored in a bay underneath the rear of the vehicle. The spare is stored suspended above the road by a winchlike mechanism that requires the use of a long rod with an eye hook on one end. The rod should be stored with the jack kit in the rear of the vehicle. and the mechanism acessed with the rod through a small hole usually in the recess around the rear license plate frame.

Hope it helps,

Trying to locate spare tire and tire jack. purchased used. cannot find jack or spare tire

You can locate your spare tire under and between the rear tires.
Your jack is located in a compartment in a left rear compartment near the door. You'll see it when you open the rear gate. Check the left panel and lift the lever.

How to take off a spare tire off an expedition

Under the hood there is a long turning bar attached. Remove the bar and proceed to the rear of the vehicle. Open the rear door and locate a hole near the rear bumper, insert tapered end of bar in hole and align with slight turning motion until you feel a resistance. Rotate bar counterclockwise in which this will start to lower the spare tire from underneth the rear of the vehicle.

Hope I gave adequate instructions.

Eric.

Spare tire

I have an Infinit QX56 and it uses the same tool to release the spare from under the rear of the SUV/lift gate. All you need to do is open the storage compartment in the rear hatch and get out the lug wrench bag out that has the tools. There is a long tool that looks like a bar with a "T" at the end. This will go into a hole in the rear bumper under the hatch. Then attach the extention tool and finaly lug wrench to the end with the hole in it. Rotate until you feel it catch, then rotate counter clockwise to lower the tire. Once it hits the floor, release a bit more tension so you can manuver the chain and holder out from the center of the rim. Lastly do these steps in reverse (rotate clockwise) to put the tire back under. Hope this helps!

Rear door light is on (SUZUKI VITARA)

The light button to the door is not pushed in enough to turn off. Tape it up or just may need a little WD 40, from just sticking.
