the car runs fine,i dont mean that i put the pedal to the floor when i start off,it happens when im doing about 30mph and i get to a hill and put the accelerator down the auto box drops a gear and the engine cuts off,but when i pull over and turn the ignition off and then back on the yellow light goes out and the engine starts up as normal,it sometimes does it on a flat road aswell if you put the pedal down and the box drops a gear or two.

Remind me never to buy a used vehicle from you!!!!!
Like the doctor in the joke says: If it hurts, then don't do that!
Could just be that your vehicle is telling you the same thing!
These are NOT race cars or performance oriented engine systems.
On NORMAL starts, how does it run?

Ok... using a digital ohmeter (if you don't have a scan tool) check the throttle position sensor, mass air flow sensor and the manifold pressure sensor (MAP). Instructions for testing are too long for me to write them out, but can be found in any decent repair manual. As a last resort, you can swap parts from another known good vehicle (maybe from a friend) this won't damage anything unless you break something during r&r. I'm leaning towards the tps, but on this electronic junk, everything feeds off of everything else and it's easy to get fooled... could even be the crank sensor. Sorry to be so vauge but without being there and driving/testing myself I can't honestly be positive enough for a definite answer. (you did change the fuel filter, right?)

it is hard to know without scanning for codes, do you have a way to scan? If not parts stores usually do it for free.
