Anti theft will not let car start

I have a 1995 Buick Riviera. When we try to start the car it will turn over but it will not fire. We've taken it to the repair shop and they weren't able to figure out what was wrong with it and tried to replace a couple different parts but that didn't help. Have replaced VATS, the ECU, and the Crank Sensor and it still will not start. Is there any way that we would be able to bypass the anti-theft system and if so how?

you need to have someone with a code scanner to read the codes onthe car if any. It doesn't sound to me like the vats system is the problem. The vats will generally let the car start for a couple seconds and then kill the fuel pump without the correct resistance through the key. It sounds more like there isn't enough fuel pressure or something like that. Hope this helps.

The only thing that prevents starting is if the computer doesn't see the correct resistance chip in the key. Other than that if the car turns over but never fires most likely it is the BCM (computer) under/behind the glove box.

Try locking the car and then unlocking the driver door with your key, then try to start, I have had many systems that have a lockout on them and by locking and unlocking with key resets the alarm, If not I can direct you to the factory service manuals, and they will walk you through figuring your problem. Hope this helps you!

I know this sounds stupid, but the drivers door key should reset the alarm, if not the key fob should.

Why wont my car start, the battery is a year old

These cars are known for the anti theft system failing. This can disable the starter. Read about it on this link. Very common in GM vehicles

My 1995 buick riviera won't start. It won't turn over. You can't hear a click when you turn the key.

it sounds like the starter motor relay could be bad. You also can be looking at a dead battery. Try jumpstarting the vehicle.
