  • shaynedj1 Dec 06, 2008

I am talking about where the two hoses connect to the sending unit on the tank. there are metal tubes sticking out and the hoses hook up to that the fittings on the hoses have two small holes in them. looks like yoyu have to press them down to pull hoses off.

they should disconnect right before the fuel pump..where it goes to the tank. when you lower the tank you should be able to see where it connects up and i used a crescent to change mine out on my truck,

Where do I find the drain to drain off water in fuel tank for Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel truck?

Typically you have to drop the tank and drain it the way it went in, this way it lessens your chance to get your gas stolen. Personally I'd siphon it out but u can drop the tank or pull of the gas-engine lines and drain it that way

The fuel guage on my 2005 F250 super duty 6 liter diesel engine just went to zero and has 3/4 of a tank of fuel any assistance on where to check for a damaged wire or loose connection

wiring harness under dash.
wires coming off top of fuel tank.
check all fuses.
do you do a lot of off roading - you may have cut or pulled a wire out.
finally you may have:
1. a bad fuel tank sending unit - need to drop the tank to replace.
2. a bad fuel gage.
3. a bad instrument panel

Ford suer duty 250 diesel has diesel in water

I think you mean that you have water in your diesel fuel. Open the valve behind the fuel/water separator and drain out some of the watery fuel into a pan (place pan under the car). If you have a lot of water in your fuel, you may need to have a professional drain your fuel tank, flush out the fuel system, and try to salvage the fuel for reuse. I hope this helps.

How do I remove the bed from 2000 F250 Super Duty quad cab diesel short bed? I need to change the fuel sending unit in the fuel tank and think removing the bed may be easier than the fuel tank.

Removing the bed is in no way easier than just dropping the fuel tank, and the fuel tank was designed to easily be dropped down from the vehicle. Who ever told you that removing the bed was the easier way is certainly not an auto technician or even a mechanic.

2006 ford F-250 super duty water in fuel light came on after hard freeze

I don't have any specific info on the the Ford, but I've had a VW diesel for years.

Best bet would be to add some Power Service or other fuel conditioner. Might also change the fuel filter to be sure you don't have water there. The filter might have a petcock or drain at the bottom also. You would just open that and collect a cupful or so of whatever comes out. Will likely be a mix of fuel and water.

Diesel light sensor comes on

When was the last PM? With the oil change the fuel filters should of been done and before the filter in the engine compartment was removed the small yellow drain valve should have been opened. If it was then maybe you have a little water in the tank. that light should be an indicator for water in fuel.

Contaminated fuel

most gas tanks don't have a drain plug.can eith try siphoning it out with a hose called a magic siphoning hose or disconnect the fuel line and put the line in a container to catch the bad gas.

other option is to drop the fuel tank and empty
