If the red light dims severely or goes out when you try to start it you have a flat battery, highly likely if that red symbol has been on while the motor has been running because the alternator hasn't been charging. It could mean you have a broken drive belt but that would also mean no power steering, AC or coolant pump drive so that would have been obvious fairly quickly.
Hi, there is a tool, usually in the glove box or by the spare. It's tee shaped with a special fitting to unscrew the bolt inside the caps. If you do not have one, you can probably get one at a salvage yard.
Not sure if this has been answered but the if you look under the drivers side you will see a flasher unit bolted to the side. It looks like a grey box with a V shaped wiring harness attached to it. Jiggle it. It may fix it. It is most likely your problem.
ive never tryed it but i wouldnt doubt if it could work, i dont think chevy changed any mounts or frames or parts related to the transfer case, just before you buy make sure you check the mounting brackets, bolts and difference in size or shape of the transfer case. also make sure the driveshaft yolk is the same size and shape as the old one before trying anything out.
hope this helps! Joe.
