Need to remove front bumper to replace both headlight assemblies.

Tried to replace the headlight assemblies on my 1999 Corolla, but there are two screws I can't get to. One because I don't have an extender for my ratchet, but for the 2nd one, the bumper is in the way. There is no room for any tools to loosen the outside hex-head screw. I need to know how to remove the front bumper without damaging it so I can get the old headlight assemblies out.

SOURCE: 2002 Toyota Rav4 remove door panel

There are some hidden screws around the door handle but you get under the panel and yank hard to pop the fasteners. Also remove the black piece behind the mirror. Alot of times it is seperate. 3 screws behind that and the connector and you are done.

SOURCE: Need to replace burnt out dash board lights 2001 Toyota Corolla

Just remove the 4 screws and then slowly pull the cluster out and reach behind and disconnect the plugs on the back of the unit and then remove the cluster. The bulbs can be removed by turning them and pulling out.

How to Replace Headlight Bulb on 2005 Prius?

Remove fender well trim ( a few screws)
Remove front bumper COVER (not the bumper- the plastic cover)
About 14 screws. Mostly on the underside, get a creeper, and a few
on the top.

Remove the (left or right side) Headlight assembly ( a couple more screws).
One assembly contains the headlight, turn signal and running light. Unplug
the electrical connector from the assembly. All bulbs remove from the back
of the headlight assembly. Headlight is held in place by bail wire, smaller
bulbs are 1/4 turn.

Raise the hood.
Lift the flap on the appropriate end of the radiator upper air deflector.
Separate the radiator side air baffle from the upper air deflector.
Remove the fastener retaining the upper edge of the front bumper fascia to the headlamp bracket.
Remove the two bolts retaining the headlamp assembly to the headlamp bracket.
Slide the headlamp assembly slightly inboard to release the outboard retaining tabs. Carefully pull the upper edge of the front bumper fascia away from the inboard edge of the headlamp assembly enough to aid in headlamp removal. Carefully remove the headlamp assembly from headlamp bracket.

How to take passenger headlamp out of 328i bmw 2008 so it can be replaced?

2008 328i Passenger headlight assembly removal.

The headlight assembly is held in by 4 "star" bolts (size 25); 2 visible on the top of the assembly, 2 not visible or easily accessible.

The 2 bolts not so visible require that the front half of the wheel well come off and the front bumper or "nose" of the car.... The bumper is what needs to come off, but there are 2 bumper bolts hidden by the wheel well.

The wheel well is held in by 7mm bolts, 2 of which are actually bolted to the bumper on the bottom.

The front bumper is held on with 7mm bolts on the bottom edge, and star bolts, size 25, accessible on the top edge. (Hood open). Here were my steps.

1. Jack up the car on the side you are replacing, remove wheel.
2. Using 7mm socket, remove all the bolts to peel off the front half of the wheel well. With the wheel well out, you can see the 2 other star bolts holding the headlight assembly, but you can only remove one of them... even if you were good enough to get both removed, the headlight assemble will not push out through the bumper.... Keep going with bumper removal.
3. Remove 2, 7mm bolts of the front bumper that are now visible up near the outer edge of the headlight assembly.
4. At this point I removed the bumper's top edge start bolts and bottom edge 7mm bolts about 3/4 of the way across the bumper...
5. The bumper is very flexible and you can now pull it back , reach in, and get that last difficult star bolt on the headlight assembly....
6. Don't forget the one electrical connector....
7. I also recommend testing the new assembly by plugging it in before removing anything

I have to replace the ballast for the HID headlights on my 2004 XC70 volvo and it is under the headlight assembly. I just need assistance on how to remove the passenger side headlight assembly

You need to remove the front bumper. Five push clips along the hood line, remove the headlight wipers (if equipped), one T25 screw in the front of each fender well, then two 12mm bolts under the headlights (1 each side). Then there are 4 10mm bolts holding the headlight in.

Change headlight

1) Left side is in front of the Airbox for the aircleaner. 2) Right side is in front of the battery (which HAS to be removed to replace the bulb).
3) Replacing the BULBS for $10 each is all you normally need to do - Unless the lights are Fogging and getting Condensation in them.
The you have to remove the bumper to repace the headlight assemblies. It is a pain. Costs $300-600 at a dealer.

How to replace headllight lamp

I know your frustration! I cannot believe the complexity of changing the headlights. Chevy has tried to make this a dealer item only just to change a headlight bulb. I will try to explain the procedure unfortunately I do not have photos. First you will need to remove the wheel well liner (two bolts and two plastic push pins). Pull the wheel well housing back (you will need to turn the wheel/tire to gain access) and using a 7mm socket remove the plastic support piece that holds the bumper in place (two bolts). Pull the corner of the bumper down until you can locate the bottom bracket of the headlight assembly that is held by a 10mm bolt. Remove it. (Oh did I mention this is a two person job!) Next move to the front of the vehicle (hood up) and remove all the 10mm bolts holding the upper part of the grill (I think there are eight of them). Now remove the obvious top two bolts on the headlight assembly! With two people - one to work the headlight assembly and one to push down the bumper and pull out on the grill assemble, slowly and carefully pull the headlight assembly straight forward. You will need to be mindfully of the small tabs on the headlight assembly that like to get caught on bumper/grill. If you are just replacing the bulb, you should be able to move the headlight assemble far enough forward to gain access to the bulbs without totally removing the headlight assembly. What a ***** job! SHAME on GM.
