Question about 1995 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

Engine overhaul is the only solution an engine overhaul. I changed the plugs and it only ran well for 20 minutes so changing the plugs every 20 minutes won't even get me to work 1 way

1995 Altima, filled up gas tank, car went from running perfectly to skipping and misfiring almost to the point of stalling. I changed the plugs, rotor, cap and air filter. It ran better for around 15 minutes, then started misfiring which got worse as I drove home from work but not to the point of stalling. The distributor was replaced 10,000 miles ago.

I haven't checked the pressure or changed the filter. That was on my list next. The problem did start suddenly, right after after a new tank of gas, before that it was running perfectly. The distributor was replaced with a rebuit 10,000 miles ago. I've heard rebuilts don't last for long. Is that correct?

Get some additive like "heet" or similar that cleans fuel system & removes moisture, add to tank & fresh fuel from a busy station, and run that for a while & see if it improves.

1995 chevy g 20 va 5.7 engine runs rough even

You may have picked up some debris and/or water when it ran out of gas. That got sucked up into the filter. Try changing the fuel filter I believe it's located on the right side, just ahead of the rear wheel.
Try that and see if there's any improvment. Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Thats about the cheapest fix your going to find. Sometimes depending on the area you live in its cheaper to just replace the car rather than to have someone fix it.Check around a few mechanic shops and see what they have to say and decide what you need to do. But make sure they are a dependable place to have something fixed because they are a lot of scammers out there too.

1995 Alitma ran rough and stalled

Its just fouled some plugs again. Need an overhaul. If you just put a valve job on it it will just put more stress on the rings and will need it anyway. Not much you can do except change plugs all the time!
