Depending on valve overlap and compression ratio,,,but as all modern cars use 95 unleaded it can be between 4 to 10 º settle for about 8º and you shouldnt be far out

2003 Subaru side lights stay on

hehe, this is a funny one because the solution is rather simple. I only know about this because it happened to a friend of mine I was visiting in her older subaru, nearly brought her to tears - also, later I when I got my baja I saw it in my manual.

There's a little switch on the top of the steering column that's sole purpose is to turn on those lights without the keys in or having the vehicle on. Might have been switched on accidentally when setting the clock, or by some curious means.

make sure alignment
marks of both cams are at 12 o'clock crank alignment is also at 12,use the line on the reluctor of the crank gear as your mark ,match it with the mark on on the oil pump housing where the crank sensor is,,ok all marks at noon that's what i should have said idon't want to confuse you good luck
