Question about 2006 Mazda Tribute
It may be the diffuser. It is located inside the air duct on the passenger side. Take out the glove box. There's a little panel with 4 screws on the duct. The diffuser looks like a plastic T. It unplugs easily. Make sure you get the exact replacement. There are hundreds of different ones. Good luck

Check for cracked vacuum hose between controller and the vacuum canister under the hood on the firewall.
