Question about 1998 Buick Regal
My husband is going to replace the fuel filter in my 1998 Buick Regal Grand Sport. What are the steps. We've located it, just need to know how to replace it.
1.) Spend $20 to buy a vehicle-specific repair manual, this will explain how to do everything.
2.) open gas tank cap, to prevent repressurization
3.) CAREFULLY, release the pressure on the fuel system by using the bleeder thing on the engine cover - use a small screw driver and cloth. (Be careful, pressure is usually around 45PSI.)
4.) Remove the filter itself...one end is a quick-connect, the other end is threaded.
5.) Replace filter - and do yourself a favor, and spend the 70 cents to buy a new O-ring to go on the threaded end.

In my regal gs 1998, the fuel pump is n fuel tank. There is a resister that I replaced to fix stalling and shutting down of engine.
