Question about 1993 Dodge Dakota
When overdrive does engage, cruise control works, no apparent problem
with transmission when everything works, but when overdrive does not work, the transmission will not shift properly. automatic trans on
V6 dodge dakota 1993 ext-cab.
please help, thanks.
4th gear is shifted electrically. If you have a 4.7 engine the following advise does not apply(different trans) but most likely culprit it the output speed sensor
in tail end of the trans. The PCM uses TPS, vehicle speed, output speed sensor and OD switch to know when to shift to 4th. 4.7 engine uses a 45rfe trans and would require a scanner to diag.

fuel pump is on the engine or either in the gastank follow the fuel line chevys are the easiest auto to work on a new i think yours is in your tank remove both straps and remove hose to filler neck. the fuel **** is in the center of th tank removed by a lock washer system holding the pump in also be careful that you follow the fuel lines though and that you remove bolts that hold the fuel ine to the frame and up to the engine or fuel filter then engine an up to the carb that way you can lower tank without bending fuel line any way however you took it off put it back if a human put this thing together then a human can fix it
