Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

99 Blazer-push button 4wd not working

Have a 1999 Chevy Balzer, the push button 4wd quit wotking about a year ago. Before it quit working, after you would push the button it would flash then go to a different setting than you pushed. Example: push 4HI and it would flash then go to 4LO and so on. Eventually it got stuck in 4LO and after continuos pushing of the 2HI button it went into 2HI and that is where has been ever since. Now the 2HI button is is lit but if you push any buttons on the switch it is as if the switch is just broke and does not respond in any way, nothing happens! I have tried replacing the 4wd switch itself and no change, I have tried removing the ATC and courtesy lamp fuses for 1 minute, replace and cycle on off 5 times but no change ( I read this in another post). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jay.

I believe I have checked all of the fuses, unless there are more fuses than the ones in the fuse box inside the on the side of the dash and the fuse box under the hood. When I push any of the switch buttons it makes no noise or anything, I do not hear any clicking as if it is attempting to go into 4wd,..just nothing. I originally thought that it was something to do with the switch itself because it was flashing and then going to another setting after being pushed, but I have since change the switch and it still didn't work so I changed it back to the old one.

Make sure that all 4 tires have the same tread on them, if one or more of them are different, then the 4wd may not engage. I had the same problem with my blazer, I changed only 2 tires at a time. The front tires would rotate faster than the rear ones, the gears in the transfer case won't line up right.

1999 Chevy Blazer 4wd 4dr code P0125 what do i do?

Well code 125 means the engine is not getting hot enough for the emission system to work. In most cases you need a new thermostat, but it could also be a faulty coolant temp sensor.

4x4 quit working

Jack up the rear wheels and put it on jack stands. Have someone get in it and put it in 4wd and drive. Release the brake. Rear wheels are spinning only right. Don't get under it but look under it and see if the front driveshaft is spinning. If the shaft is spinning but the wheels aren't it is likely a bad front axle actuator. If the front shaft isn't spinning it is a transfercase problem.
