Aowhn do i have to change my timing belt in mitsubishi ls 2006 out lander 96000km

Hello maothilak: My name is Roger and I will help you. According to my repair manuals and shop guide . The timing belt should be replaced every 96560.82km. or every 60,000 miles. Please note this engine has been identified as an interference engine. That means if the belt slips or breaks severe internal damage will occur. With the mileage you have on your engine I would recommend changing the timing belt. You did not say which engine you have? My all data system identified it as a 2.4 sohc engine. Should you have a 3.0 engine than the time to change the belt is 168981.4 km or 105,000 miles. The 3.0 is also considered an interference engine. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

93 camry 3.0L V6 timing belt

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Yes, you can drive the car to the shop without fear of any internal engine damage.

Your engine is not an "interference' engine; your valves will not be damaged if the belt slips a tooth or two. In fact, any Toyota engine with a timing belt is a non-interference engine.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance.

Hello lmason: My name is Roger and I will help you. The engine in your car does not have a timing belt. THe engine has a timing chain. The chain is oiled by the engine lubrication. How often does the timing belt need to be replaced

Hello cksoucy110: My name is Roger and I will help you. The manufacturer recommends replacement of the timing belt at 60,000 miles. Does not matter if a 4 Cly or v-6 engine. Also be mindful of these are interference engines. That means if the timing belt breaks while the engine is running you will do serious engine damage. You will bend valves and damage pistons. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer you received as this way I know it was helpful Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Is the 2.2 laganza i interferance engine upon timing belt failure

Hello. The Daewoo 2.2 is an interference engine. If the timing belt broke while the engine was running, most likely all the valves are bent. In extreme cases the valves can even punch holes in the pistons.

Does it have a timing chain or a timing belt

Hello.
In 1997 the Sunfire used 2 different engines.
A 2.4 overhead cam or a 2.2 overhead valve engine.
Both use a timing chain setup.
Hope this helps you along.
Best of the season to you.

Timing belt broke -2000 ford focus zx3

Hello mawbea: My name is Roger I will answer your question. You did not say which engine is in your car. So if you have a 2.0 SOHC engine. If the belt broke you should be Ok. If you have the 2.0 DOHC engine. The likely hood of bending the valves are just about a guarantee. How ever with any engine using a timing belt it is possible to bend a valve.Should you need more help please just ask.
Please rate the quality of your answer as this way we know you received helpful information.Thank You for using Fix Ya, Roger

Timing belt 2005 4 cylinder camry

Hello, A 2005 Camry with a 2.4 4 cylinder engine has a timing CHAIN not belt. I don't think that there is a routine maintenance schedule for this. If there is no audible noise coming from the chain area, you probably have nothing to worry about.
I hope this helps
