Faulty Heater Fan

The blower fan in the car for the heater only works on the highest setting of 4.

Thanks for any assistance I haven't tried the fix but it certainly seems as if it will help

There were so many sites that said it was probably the resistor, that we bought one. Took several phone calls to finally locate one at Pep Boys. Since it looked so different that the one we removed, we went to Dodge and got one from there which was cheaper. It fixed the problem perfectly. The only problem was getting those two screws out of the unit. You have to lay on your back, half out of the door. The tools we used were exactly the right size, but one screw took forever to come out. It took the two of us, trading off, about an hour. It was irritating getting that screw back in, but not nearly as long. We connected the battery, started the car, turned on the switch and could hear air coming out at the lowest setting. Heaven. Now, I'll have to check the one for the back seat.

IT'S USUALLY THE BLOWER CONTROL SWITCH ITSELF BUT THE SYSTEM WORKS ON RESISTANCE.IT COULD JUST AS EASILY BE A BAD CONNECTON OR THE FAN ITSELF. IF YOUR GOING TO CHECK IT,START WITH THE WIRING

You need to replace the resistor. it is located in the wiring near the blower. it is a small gadget with two wires. it is simple to take off and replace.

Where is the high speed fan relay on a 95 lumina apv?

The photo I have shows the high speed relay on the firewall or on the heater box in the engine compartment. It should be near the blower motor.

Fan motor on heater has stopped when I switch between the settings ( defrost to upper & lower heat) I hear the gates moving but the fan won't come on ( no heat ) it's very cold please any sugestions...

first check the heater fuse...then you want to unplug the fan motor lead and run it straight to the battery...if it works then you will need to check the resistor assembly..it is located on the heater housing right near the fan..it controls the different speeds for the fan and usually has 4-6 wires coming off it. If these don't fix the problem...try looking in the fuse/relay box both in the cab and under hood to see if you have a relay for the heater fan...as it may be defective

My 2000 Mazda MPV heater fan works for 4 not for 1

You need to replace the blower motor resistor,it's in the heater box.Number 4 bypasses the resistor and all the other speeds go through it so it's the most likely problem.

My fan heater only works on the highest setting 6

Hi. This will be the result of a failed resistor switch. the switch controls the current level sent to the blower motor. Once replaced, the motor will operate at your desired rate. This switch is an integrated part of the AC/Heater control cluster, that is mounted in your dash. You will need to remove the trim, and cluster assembly to expose the damaged switch.

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.

99 Nissan Altima blower fan works only on highest setting (#4)

Resistor switch. The rotary switch on the dash is very, very uncommon. It is also not the blower, because it works.

Loud heater on highest setting and brakes shake when braking

Regarding the heater issue: You may have some items from the glove box that may have been drawn into the heater fan. The intake for the heater system from the interior is right behind the glove box. It is a rather simple operation to remove the lower trim cover from the dash panel, under the glove box, and remove the 3 retention screws from the fan motor assembly. It drops straight down, Inspect the fan for debris.

Regarding the vibration when braking:
I would think that the front brake rotors are heat-distorted, and thusly slightly warped. Replacement of the front brake rotors will correct this condition.

Faulty Heater Fan

I would check the blower motor resistor. The resistor slows the current going to the blower motor to make the fan run slower for the first three speeds. The high speed runs of full battery voltage.I hope this helps.
