Question about 1998 Plymouth Voyager

1 Answer

I have a 92 plymouth voyager that while I'm driving the instrument gauges will go crazy then everything thing will ping out to 0. What I mean is it will say I have no gas and though I am traveling at 55mph it will say that I'm at 0 is there a reset on this or do I have to repace the instrument cluster?

On-board computer needs to be re-booted.  This is done by disconnecting battery - just the negative post is sufficient - then re-connecting and starting the vehicle.
My 1992 Voyager did this for the first time after I had owned it for almost 10 years and did it sporadically after that.

I have 199 Plymouth voyager I don't no which fuse

The oil light is not fused by itself, the fuse that runs it runs all the lights and gauges. Let me get this straight, you are driving this with an oil pressure warning on??? Find the problem and fix it before you possibly damage the engine ands have a $3500 repair bill.

You have some wiring problems shorting out that is coming from the dash board so if you or anyone you know how to use a multimeter to check the wireing harnesses plus check any connectors that might be just very touching the connector of dashboard which means a bad connection to dashboard.

I have a 1999 Plymouth Voyager mini-van - 4 cylinder, 2.4 engine. It drives good but the gauges are not work sometimes. The temperature gauge stays at zero; the odometer/speedometer either stays at zero or...

There have been several issues with the instrument clusters in the Voyagers and Caravans. The circuit board can have cold solders at the plug connection causing an intermittent failure of the instruments. The fix is to remove the trim under the dash, around the steering wheel and in front of the cluster. This can be done with just a phillips screwdriver and some patience. Once this is out of the way there are 4 screws that hold in the cluster. Remove the cluster, and with a low temp solder gun, heat the solder points where the plug connects until they are liquid and reset themselves. Reassemble the cluster and check them before you put the dash assembly back together.

Sounds like you need a new speed sensor in the transmission, both the speedometer and the transmission rely on a signal from it to work properly.
