I have a small problem, I have a Hyundai Coupe GK 2.7 V6 (2002) that I have replaced the engine on, assembled everything … and now found out after starting it that (engine and gearbox mounted etc) the gearbox has been put on with the clutch folk not in the write place ( basically no clutch) . Now my question is what is the easiest way of fixing this problem, I have the car almost on the road and need to sort this out asap

Is there a way of dropping the whole front suspension frame with engine and gearbox to do the work or something similar and how do I get the fork to slide onto the clutch bearing properly ?

    Thanks for your help

hi if you mean the gearbox has come out a little but not able to remove any more ? the problem may be the actual spigot bearing that fits in crank/flywheel ? has siezed onto the primary/ input shaft of g/box and will not allow g/box to come out due to bearing is hitting the clutch drive plate hope you understand?? just out of curiosity?? why are you replacing clutch ? slipping? or difficult to get/select gear/s? if the latter problem ?? this will be due also to what i have explained as possible problem re g/box removal ? if you think the above may be right ? come back for safe method/s on how to overcome the problem ? best wishes from lancashire in uk

Release the clutch arm of top of gaerbox and the gear box will move back no problem thats why you can only move it back to fly wheel teeth this is a push clutch thats how you release them

Dont know what side the throw out bearing goes on the pressure plate or the shaft

After clutch is mounted & aligned to flywheel, bearing goes over input shaft of transmission before slid through the clutch assy, to flywheel. Don't forget bearing attaches to release fork.

Timing belt on 2004santa fe crdi

It's a lot of work, and should be done at 60,000 miles. You will have to remove the front cover of the engine to get to it. There's not a lot of room to work with either. If that belt goes on you, so will your engine.
