2002 Lincoln LS horn wont work.

I have a customer with a 2002 Lincoln LS.....It is a V8 if it matters.Either way,she came by today and I checked all fuses and they were all good as far as I could see.None were blown.I did happen to notice that one of the relays was cracked slightly @ the top.Any assistance will help. The car runs great and all other components are working.Only the horn is not working. Please let me know if there is anything else I should checkas it has no owners manual with it.............

Thanks,
Brent

I am having the same problem. I just bought this car and the horn is not working. There is a dash light on which I am trying to find out what that means (it is the person in the seat with a seat belt and the airbag out???) still have not found what the light means, there is no manual. The guy I bought it from checked all of the fuses and they all checked out and he has no clue what to do next, nor do I.
Anything helps so thanks in advance.

    I have the same problem.
I also have the airbag light on - the person in the seat with a seat belt and the airbag out.
I also have noticed steering wheel radio controls don't work correctly and cruise control does not work.

I suspect loose connection - possibly under the airbag??

I have the samoe problem, horn doesnt work, airbag light stays on and my radio controls are all messed up. Can the clock spring be replaced? I have a 2000 LS.

This is the second horn problem that I have had with my 2002 Town Car. I had the horn replaced when it was still under warranty, but now it is out again and not under warranty.

I just bought the car yesterday & I find this today. Same thing, no horn, air bag light on, no cruise control. But everything else on the car works perfectly including the steering wheel mounted radio controls.

The problem is your clock spring. it is not that hard to change but remember to disconnect your battery and let the vehicle sit twenty minutes. there are two screws on the side of your steering wheel. take them out then you will have the chance to release the airbag connector. once you get it disconnected there are a few panels on the lowere steering column under the dash that needs to be disconnected. the last thing will be your steering wheel bolt. it is a star socket. all together it will take you less than an hour. part cost me $138. after that my horn and my cruise control worked as advertised.

Save your money sell the car! If the horn and radio controls do not work it is the clock spring under the steering wheel. Notorious for going bad. The air bag light comes on and stays on when you start the car comes from a bad wire harness under the driver seat that ends up getting pinched from the power seat going back and fourth. I have spent thousands repairing my 2002...Sell the P.O.S!

You should put a test light on the connections at the horn and have someone press the horn to see if you have power at the horn If you have power then then you need to replace the horn.

Replacing alternator on 2002 lincon ls v8

Linda, Alternator will be removed from bottom of vehicle, remove 3 bolts and wires/plug, scrape knuckles and swear a little. After all unbolted, it can still be very hard to remove from the tight area. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Why is my Lincoln LS V8 2002 has the ABS and Traction Control light on?

The traction control works off the ABS system You will need a scan tool capable of reading ABS codes before you can further diagnose the problem If you are able to retrive the abs codes searrch on the internet for the trouble code Many times it is a wheel sensor or bad connection on the sensors .

2001 LINCOLN LS WILL CRANK BUT WONT START EVERYTHING IS WORKING FUEL PUMP IS NOT GETTING POWER TO IT FUEL PUMP WORKS FINE ALL FUSES GOOD ALARM LIGHT ON DASH FLASHES WHEN TRYING TO START

If the alarm light is blinking, then the issue could be with the vehicle immobilizer or key. The key may need rematching to the vehicle's ECU, which will need reprograming by the manufacturer service centre.

My cruise control doesn't work??...any

jnjkingbird, It sounds like this problem is the clock spring as I don't believe that the horn and the cruise control would share a fuse. However, they do share a circuit in the clock-spring. You can check for power at each unit (horn and the cruise control) which would confirm this. Check each fuse as well. Good luck with this.

Where is the horn relay located on a lincoln 2002 ls v8. horn blows where alarm is press...but it will not work when i press the horn button insided the car?

If the alarm makes the horn work, then it is not the relay.
It is the horn contact or slip ring.
You need to take the cover off the steering wheel center.
But this could be dangerous due to air bags.
Disconnect battery first.
Steering wheel might have to come off.
Recommend a shop because most people don't have the tools for pulling steering wheel.
