Thanks, Do you have operating instructions too? Is the "comp" button pushed and held until the display indicates something and then you drive in 3 circles?

    Compass Calibration and Magnetic Variance

    Compass Calibration
Before calibrating the compass, drive the vehicle to a area that is

magnetically clean (free of large metallic objects). Also make sure there

is no magnetic objects on the inside or outside of the vehicle close to

    the mirror.

    1. Start the engine.

    2. Press and hold the COMP switch (on/off switch if equipped with

OnStar® controls) until the letter "C" or "Cal"

      is displayed.

    3. Drive the vehicle in circles at a speed of less than 8 km/h

(5 mph) until the letter "C" or "Cal" is replaced

by a proper vehicle heading. The calibration procedure is now complete.

    Compass Magnetic Variation Adjustment
Magnetic variation adjustments are required when the compass displays

a constant error in heading. Variation is the difference between magnetic

north and true north due to geographical location.

      World Magnetic Variation Map

    1. Locate your current geographic location. Refer to the variation zone

      map.

    2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

    3. Press and hold the COMP switch (on/off switch if equipped with

OnStar® controls) until a zone number appears on the compass display.

    4. Depress the COMP switch (on/off switch if equipped with OnStar®

controls) to change the compass to the desired zone.

    5. After selecting your zone number, the display will show a compass

      heading after approximately 5 seconds.

Where is the sensor located for the rear view mirror temp and compass ?

The ambient air temp sensor is usually a small black probe around and in front of the radiator area but not directly in the airflow.

My rear view mirror with temp and compass sometimes will not work. It will show all the digital shows up at once and not the temp, but sometimes it works ok. What can I do?

Does the compass work when the temperature goes out? If the compass still works then chances are that the ambient temp sensor is defective. Also, could be wiring to the sensor. If the compass goes out with the temperature then chances are the mirror itself is defective. Cheapest most common problem is the ambient temp sensor. It's behind the grill by the condenser at the front of the vehicle.

Does the dim/compass/temp rear view mirror of a suburban 02 can be put in a sunfire 05

It will work fine. You may have to change the mounting pad on the windshield, and you will have to run power to it.

There is no power to my rear view mirror with Temp and compass. Is there a fuse for this? I can't find it in the manual

My airbag light will not cut off and my temp and compass on my rearview mirror cut off the same time it went out too... I changed the fuse because it was blown... it works for a couple of days and then cuts back off... I took it to the dealership and they did a dianogstic check and can't find the problem
